Started propecia yesterday. Harder to get boners.

I started propecia yesterday and I find it's harder to get erect. Stop the drug? Or does it go away with continued use?

Haha I can get it up. Videos like that help. Strong power! But I've noticed in 1 day they are weaker and take longer to get to max!

It might be real. But please consider the possibility that it might be in your head. I've been married 10 years. I've been on fin for 2 months. A few days in (first time wife and I fornicated on fin) I felt like it was harder to get up. I started freaking out because this has NEVER happened before. My wife is hot (in my opinion). I soldierd up and convinced myself it was in my head due to the horror stories I've been reading online. The same stories that kept me from trying fin. I could have easily stopped, but after soldiering up, and convincing myself it was placebo, subconscious ED,....suddenly I had no problem. Been on fin for 2 months, and I pop wood like a 16 year old boy in the girls volleyball locker room.

It’s hard to believe that side effects occur in a day after starting a treatment. Even therapeutic effect will take few days to make any positive difference. May be as polar vertex said it’s all in head that you are reading lot about those side effects online and started thinking you might get one after taking fin. Finasteride is the only drugs that acts at root cause and effects are proven. At what dosage you are taking it? If you start with small dose, it’s unlikely to cause any side effect, at least not so soon. Most of the time, these sides are temporary and stops once you discontinue the drug. However, it’s always good to have a word with your physician before making any changes in your regimen.

I take the standard 1mg one. I only took 1 pill 3 days ago my erections are harder to achieve and softer. I also noticed my balls moving just then. One is growing bigger and smaller like a heart beat slowly

Hi Mark89 ! Welcome to our forum-You are at the right place!

I agree with what 'AnnaM11' had posted to you...
                  (her words)
"It’s hard to believe that side effects occur in a day after starting a treatment. Even therapeutic effect will take few days to make any positive difference. Anna' that was good advice given to Mark89, thanks for that ,,

Mark89 , the best thing for you to do is to take your 1mg Finasteride as you would a multivitamin...
Take it and forget about it ...do not FOCUS on it.
I agree with Anna in that there is no way that you would experience any sides' so SOON as you had mentioned.

More than likely emotions, concerns, worries and stress effected you and not the med.

Another thing to remember, STRESS CAN cause hairloss!
That is a proven fact. I had experienced that years ago.
Don't give up on Finasteride just yet.
Take it and dont think about it.
Ive been taking 1mg per day of (generic) Finasteride for over 19 months now..started in Aug. 2013.
I have NOT experienced any bad sides' from it .
I do have a lessening of my semen but thats all.
My wife and I are A-OK..if you know what I mean--lol.
And yes, I have GOOD hair improvements (to this day) from its use.
My doctor prescribed it to me, explaining that he has had over 100 patients on Finasteride for hairloss .
None of them have had any bad sides' from it,,and all have experienced improvements to their hair.
Some with very minor improvements and some having had major improvements.
I feel that my hairs improvements are somewhere in the middle of all of that.
Keep in mind that it seems that my hairs improvements are still on going!!

Stay optimistic but objective and realistic as well.

Give the med a chance to help you but do NOT stress out or worry over it Mark89.
You will be OK either way!!

Walrus, Hi there and Of course , stress does not cause ones natural MPB but
stress can and will ENHANCE (speed up) ONES MPB.
If a person does not have MPB,
depression and stress in that person's life can and WILL cause hair loss! Young or old.
                      Remember this FACT Mark89 !

I believe that it could just be anxiety from starting the new treatment.

I take 0.5 mg of Dutasteride daily and haven't had any problems whatsoever.
