Is this a sure sign of balding?

I'm 23 years old and recently noticed my temples receding a bit and suspect that I have early stage MPB. When my hair is normal length, I can cut off my widow's peak to hide the recession and have pretty normal looking hair. My father is the only one in the family that's bald (NW7), the rest of the males in my family has decently good hair. Out of curiosity of what I would look like with little/no hair if the day ever came, I recently shaved my head. To my dismay, I can clearly see my hair thinning in a pattern like George Costanza. I was really hoping that "hair comes from the mother side" thing was true, but maybe not.

Its very minor and only noticeable when grown out if you are really looking for it, my advice would be get on fin if you can tolerate it and not loose anymore hair, and rarely come back to this forim
