    20 YO possible Thinning?

    Hi guys,

So I'm known for having extremely thick hair, like when I grow it out, it becomes a bush per say. Well, I decided to grow it out, I've been noticing recently that the front of my hair looks a lot more dispersed. I think it's due to possibly the way I style my hair by pulling both sections to the side, kinda splitting it down the middle. I want to know from your opinion, does it look like the front of my head is thinning. Just for a note, the pictures that I posted show my hair after it has been pushed into all directions. The weird thing is, when my hair is short, it looks extremely thick. Please take a look and let me know!
    Thank you

Looks like a heavy heavy cowlick, and a little bit of thinning (if it's a cowlick)

    I have a similar thing.

Is this a sign of balding? I feel like it only looks like this because of the light and how I part my hair to show the scalp. But I could be saying anything to stay in denial.

the thinning is if there is any, the cowlick is not.

But, cowlicks will show thinning before the rest of the crown often as they look thin to begin with, however it's just the way they are.

There does appear to be some thinning on your crown. Not bad and not too late to recover if you act soon.

Okay guys, here is my hair short, took these pictures today. Please give it another look. Also, if you do see anything wrong, what measures should I take. I am new to this. Looking from your point of view, I'm worried about that bottom right side, on the front of the head.

Thank you for your time, I really do appreciate it.

From the latest pics you provide, I would say that I don't see any thinning or hair loss. Keep in mind though, you have to lose around 50% of your hair before others notice your hair loss. You may not have hair loss and be 100% fine, but you may also have some hair loss and it is just not showing up in pics. You will ultimately be the best judge. Document with pics every few months and compare with older pics.

yeah, from those pics the only thing that I could think of, if I were realllllly trying to find hairloss, would be... nothing. unless you have a very very early stage of diffuse thinning that showed up in longer hair/buzzed very very short

My hair thinning is very similar to yours as well, I have tried many things and nothing seems to be working. In between that Balding and thinning stage

                      Hey guys,

So I went to the dermatologist. She is one of the well respected ones here in MTL. She is a little on the weird side and shows no respect to time constraints but people still come see her regardless.

She is also Bald ( the irony), she checked my hair, she didn't magnify it but she looked at my roots and pores. She said my hair is thinner on the top as usual to all men my age. She looked at my pores and said their very healthy. She said I have healthy hair and that I am overly paranoid at the moment. She also said that most men like animals shed most hair in November and December and that anyone out their who are currently panicking should not worry and look at their hair volume in February...

Regardless, she said for my age, I have very healthy hair. So I was very happy to hear that. Like the poster above me mentioned, I will still look at my hair every six months and just be proactive. I thank you all for your responses!

HairCheck is also very helpful in determining the level of miniaturization if any exists at all. You're in Montreal? If you ever make it down to the Atlanta Georgia area, we offer a free HairCheck. You just need to make an appointment in advance.

One of the advantages of HairCheck is, your hair mass numbers are kept on file, so those numbers can be compared to HairCheck numbers taken at a later date.

I noticed the same thing in my cowlick when I was 19. When light shined on it, it looked like my crown was thinning. I'm almost 40 now and it looks pretty much the same. I wouldn't worry too much at this point.
