And to the people who say you're gonna have to do it for the rest of your life... it's really not that bad. Once you get into routine, it'll just be another thing on the list, no big deal... because that's what your life will become anyways. I think they are just lazy ****s who sit on a couch all day. Honestly, pop a pill? less than 5 secs... I ****ing pop my pill and drink it down with my orange juice or some shit or even pop. And minox? Lol, you bitches spend hours looking at your hairline in the mirror but can't take the 2 minutes to apply a liquid to your head? ****ING PATHETIC EXCUSES.

And to say no to reproduce? You have no right. If reproduction is something someone wants to do, they can do whatever the **** they want. But me? Bachelor for life!!! Woooo! Life's too good to have just one women.
I agree Proper. I dreaded the thought of popping Propecia every day because I thought it would remind me of hairloss. It didn't. It's just like, every morning you have your coffee, breakfast, vitamins and propecia. I don't even really think about it now. Plus, this is the "worst" we'll ever see it. New treatments are being developed all the time. It's not like, say, 1950, when there wasn't even ANYthing going on in terms of development and no treatments.

Thanks so much Proper, extremely helpful comment.

As I said earlier, my dermatologist appointment is coming up, and a this point it might just be a maturing hairline.

I want to stay away from meds as long as possible, because I've heard of a lot of things that meds can do to your body.

And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one- I don't get what's so difficult about taking a pill and rubbing your scalp with a foam real quick. I'm not sure what it is, too lazy to spend a few mins actually doing something for your hair but fine with spending hours on this website? I don't get it at all.

And thanks LT56. I've heard a lot of good things, just want to try to limit my reccesion as much as I can going completely natural till I'm old enough to use it

I'm sorry, Son, but you have a hard road ahead.

You seem intelligent and mature for your age, so with any luck you'll still have a good life.
But it may be time to reach for the clippers...
That's a really douchey thing to say.

No problem, brother. I know how it feels. I'll give you also the same advice I give a lot of young men on this forum. Although the connection with hairloss isn't obvious, I highly recommend you work hard in school so you can get a good job and learn how to invest your money. My logic is this: alot of these new treatments that are coming out may be expensive. The more money you have, the more you'll be able to do about hairloss and then get on with your life as though it never happened. Let me know if you want some advice in this area on where to start.

You might be onto something. There were these guys in Germany who tried to implement guidelines along this line of logic.

Perhaps you can start up a new revival.

At age 15 I would not take any kind of product other than Nizoral shampoo and maybe biotin.

Go ask your parents/guardian if you should seek council with a dermatologist or your family doctor. Only then with their approval move forward.

The best thing to do is keep your scalp clean and eat healthy.

Well, I've done pretty well by having the premise that there should be two sources of income: your job and your investments. For your job, do you have an idea what you want to do? What type of work do you like? For the investments, I would start with the book, "The Wealthy Barber". It's an easy read and gives you an excellent base on how to handle money. Do you live in Canada or the U.S.?

Hmm, honestly doubt your balding, especially since your 14. Hmm maybe problem with something else, e.g. prostate. Finasteride shouldn't be taken at your age since your body is still developing. I'd go with minoxidil. Saw palmetto shampoo's dont really work, even if they did, it would get absorbed systemically and have the same effects as finasteride which will result in side effects.

It may not seem like it, but starting at your age gives you a few advantages over guys who go later in life. I was 19 myself and lost nearly all my top-head hair by 21, so I know what it feels like, believe me.

Firstly, you're still growing, the perfect time to put on weight. Buy 'The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding' off Amazon, read it cover to cover and start some serious weightlifting. The fact that your body is still growing will make it so much easier to build muscle. Then, shave your head and become an absolute badass. That's what I did, and I have more success with women now than I ever did with a full head of hair.

Secondly, by the time your peers start freaking over it later in life, you'll already have it behind you. People will be well-used to it by then, and more importantly, so will you.

Thirdly, it makes you one hell of a tough person. It makes you strong. I'm WAY more confident in myself after living through the experience in my teens, and more importantly, I have something many men die without - I now know exactly what kind of man I am.

The 'trauma' period lasted for about a year with me, and after that it became normal. I woke up one day after not consciously thinking about it for weeks and realized that it didn't bother me any more. Remember, some of the most badass people in the world have lost their hair. It doesn't make the man.

                        Stay strong, brother.
