But he's combing his hair foward to cover the loss
Comb it back and he's pretty much bald except for the sides and back
Not to try and be negative but how can you improve from a bald head or maintain what you have when there is nothing to maintain

Here are some latest ones. I realize that an HT could help, but I am not prepared to undergo surgery. Knowing that results are not guaranteed and more procedures may be required.

Have to agree with the above. I'd buzz it personally if I was in your position.

It's too far gone to salvage? Must be hell on a breezy day as well.

Good luck tho, we all need it.

I would give the big 3 another year if I were in your shoes. I would also start using Rogaine foam in the morning as well as liquid Minoxidil at night during that second year. Better quality pictures would help you determine if you are improving or not.

Whether additional procedures are "required" or not depends on what you want. If you want hair like a teenage rock star, no amount of procedures is going to give you that considering your degree of loss. If your expectations are more reasonable, you may be able to achieve something you would be happy with. Either way, I would still continue treatment for one more year if I were you.

ravegrover, I think you have visibly improved

If I was you I would consider megadosing dutasteride (1-1.5 mg every day at least). I have never recommended that to anyone on this site before, but your case is unique because you are at an advanced stage of loss yet still willing to see where meds can get you
If you are determined not to get an HT at this point then you might as well use the big guns IMO. But definitely do not quit keto or minox

              Good luck!

                +1 to this.

I mean this with absolute respect: your hair is way too far gone to not be buzzing it. In my honest opinion, you would be doing yourself a favor look-wise to cut it off. I'd say hit the gym and take meds to maintain some stubble up top.

I'm already really contemplating it for myself.

                Good luck, man.

25 going on 65 - I am considering taking .5mg Dutas once a week in addition to Fin. Given you exp with Dutas, please let me know if you have an opinion on it

I just read through this entire thread. I missed it, it was started before I joined BTT. I wont tell you how to style your hair. Do what makes you the most comfortable. My hair loss isn't at the advanced stage that yours is, but it is getting there so I keep it very short, 2 guard. I always take pics after I get my hair cut to better document any changes. Keep us posted on your progress with Dut. I am also thinking about it, but want to give fin at least a year before I decide if it is working.

I have been disappointed so far. 7+ months w/ no significant regrowth. Many vellus hairs but they are not cosmetically helping. I also had a bit of thinning in the first few months of starting, mostly in the hairline corners I think. Still not completely recovered yet!

Some people get great regrowth on dut which is why I recommended it to you. I unfortunately have not been 1 of those people so far. But my peak results on fin came around 14-15 months so I am trying to be patient

I take .5 mg Avodart, .5 mg Dutagen, 1.25 mg fin, & use 2% keto shampoo every 3-4 days

So I have decided to add Dutasteride 0.5mg to regimen (once a week only). I got the pills today. Strip of 15 capsules retails for US$4/- here in New Delhi (India). I will take pictures and report on progress after 3 - 4 months.

                            Looks like saw palmetto.

The photos are not clear and therefore hard to make comparison. However, it appears that you have a similar amount of hair (maybe a touch more in a few places) which means that it may be working for you. No need to quit the website. Hang in there.

Hello everyone I've been off for a no of years. How is everyone doing and is there a treatment out yet?

I've since made peace with my hair loss. Instead focusing on my career and staying healthy and fit. I don't think about hair loss as much but then again I am 42.
