How fast does thinning in crown progresses?

Hello, it's been 3-4 month or so since I took pic of my clown to compare them TODAY. It seems like there's not much of differentiation in terms of how thin my crown is. Does that mean it's possible that my crown/hair is just thin in general? or I'm balding slowly.

From what I seen in pics of me in the middle school (now 20), I always had thin fringe/high forehead and appears to have thin hair on the top also.

    What do you guys think?

Everyone will thin at their own pace. I started to thin when I was around 18 or so, while a lot of my friends had full heads of hair. Now I'm 37 and I have more hair than most of them because my thinning was so slow.

You do look like you are thinning in the crown, are you taking anything?

I'm not taking anything ATM, I can't afford to go to dermatologist until next month or so.

It's tough to tell if you're thinning from these pics. Due to the shape of the head and hair angles at the crown, it's normal to see scalp. Plus, given the color and straightness of your hair, I'm guessing you may be Asian; if so, you'll probably see a bit more scalp than normal, as Asians have a lower natural hair density than caucasians. (Caucasians typically have ~100,000 hairs on their head, while Asians have ~80,000.)

I still think my crown is thinning in my opinion. Would it be wise to wait half a year and see if my crown has thinned?

Like those 2 pics above was between 3-4 months, I don't see any changes.

First pic being taken today and other one in December 2012 or early Jan of 2013

My work colleague is thinning in his crown, I first noticed it 3 years ago.

3 years later, it is very noticeable. I generally think crown thinning is a lot more aggressive then other types of HL.

No rule of thumb here, it varies for everyone. The good news is, the crown responds well to meds usually.

If you are seeing miniaturized "wispy" hairs on your head, that is a sign of MPB.
