I was going to post one after I got some regrowth, which probably won't be until mid April unless I get lucky. I've lost at least half of the transplanted grafts as expected, perhaps more, it's been nearly 5 weeks since!

This is definitely the worst bit.
How are you doing?
It's strange as I'm not sure I've lost all that many grafts to be honest, maybe I just haven't noticed.
I'm definitely feeling better now after the initial panic of thinking I had scarring... now I'm just really looking forward to my next procedure.

Hi gc
I don't know an awful lot about HST, but do the transplanted hairs fall out in the recipient? I'd like to get my hairline filled in but would be worried if they fall out.

Do they grow back?
Yes just like every other Hair Transplant in the world. Usually between 2 - 8 weeks you will lost the vast majority of the grafts and of course they will all regrow a few weeks/months later, usually after approx 3 months they will start to grow again.
But to complicate things slightly, HST is reported to lose less grafts than conventional hair transplants. Many people report the grafts don't fall out at all they just keep growing as if no trauma has taken place, this happened to me on my 2nd HST. My 1st and 3rd are a different story.
c5000, thats good to hear you feeling better about the whole thing. Have you any before and after pics of your recipient? Be good to see where your at.

Thanks mate
I know about shockloss but I am a bit nervous incase my hairline takes a massive hit...I don't want people knowing I'd had the prediction done. If I have HST and avoid loss of transplanted grafts I will be pretty pleased.

P.S. what happened to Arsenal?
I think 'shockloss' is more to do with losing your existing hair near the transplanted grafts, rather than the grafts themselves, which you hear a lot of in regards to normal hair transplants. I haven't heard of anyone complain of shockloss with HST. That's how I understand it anyway.
Losing the transplanted grafts is seen as very normal. If you don't lose them your almost a freak, HST though seems less freakish. That's the best way I can explain it in layman's terms.
As for Arsenal pfffft. Where do I start with that shower of shite. Need a miracle on Tuesday night.
Gc , may i ask one thing? first of all i really appreciate what are you doing with your report, i was in Maastricht one month ago trying to decide if i have to do the procedure or not. I'm a nw 4 with your same donor density. ( other clinics says that they can extract only 2500 f.u.) because i cut my hair short and i'm going to do 3 procedures, can you take an entire picture of the back of your head just to see how natural donor area could looks like with a short cut as i suppose you have now?
how do you see it? is it normal or a bit depleted?
thanks so much i'll really appreciate your effort

Hey gc83uk - do you have any front facing none close up shots. It'd be really great to actually see what you look like - before and after.
I'm probably going to sign up for a Gho transplant. My motivation is not necessarily because I believe the grafts grow back again but because I want no scars.
