Having HST procedure in a few weeks

That 'Tobban' guy photo really means nothing by the way. Of course some hairs are shorter than the others. The technician won't be able to extract each hair successfully, in fact, I think the ratio between 'drilling' and successful extraction was about 20:12 in my case. Sometimes she won't be able to extract the hair at all and other times the hair will break, causing shorter hairs. -
Ok well I'll wait a couple of weeks before I shave down the donor. I have a small scar on my donor area from playing soccer, so that will serve as a good point of reference when monitoring regrowth.
Any idea how long you have to wait before you can shave down the recipient?Leave a comment:

You had 2000+ grafts extracted at the back of you head and it was a few months ago.
Now when you shave do you see gaps or white dots or you think regeneretion occured?Leave a comment:

BTW, 'aim4hair', did you shoot good highres pictures yourself ? And if so, did you see regrowth ?Leave a comment:

"Normally" ? You mean in this 1 case above ? It really depends on how fast you hair grows, how far they've cut it down and the angle of the hairs (the flatter the sooner you'll have to cut it down again).Leave a comment:

Simply use gc’s original photos (full size photos – I guess you know where you find them?) for orientation or to get a hint what usually happens after day 3, day 5 and so on …

Up to day 7, normally, there is no need to shave the donor area (don’t use a real RAZOR too early!) or just your small “observation area” – if you have defined one. Another example is patient Tobban:
Day 6

So up to day 7, normally, there is no need the shave or to cut the hairs. But after day 7 – it’s extremely difficult to see the extraction sites, especially if you have very dense hair in your donor area. So simply do what gc did:
Shave the hairs (it’s better you use a hair cutter machine!) after day 13 or day 14, and start to make some photos again.Leave a comment:

I understand that a misfit geek like you is still virgin and has to watch porn to get his satisfaction. I hope my mum got you excited, you deserve some relaxation as well, everybody does.Originally posted by 534623btw - Yesterday, I have seen your mother in a porn as "actress". But I think she isn't a good actress.Leave a comment:

After 4 days you're allowed to touch it again, wash it etc, so shaving should be ok too.Leave a comment:

I'm just documenting my own progress. Main reason is that if I DO have regrowth, I'll have the procedure again in 9 months, otherwise I'll wait.Originally posted by 534623Let me guess in advance: After 10-14 days, you will claim "still no regrowth yet" - right? Or every other wired story ...
I'm only at day 4 so regrowth can't be expected just yet. Furthermore what makes you think I'm interested in what you guess ? You're a total fruitcake, everybody knows that.Leave a comment:

I have a 14 megapixel Sony Cybershot W320 at the moment. But I'd be more than willing to buy a new camera that would provide better photos if need be. I'll be shaving my head with no clip the weekend before the procedure, so I'll practise taking photos then. 534623 so you think 14 mega pixels is enough?
Arashi, is it safe to shave the donor down after 4 days? I guess I can ask doctor Gho when it is safe to shave down the donor, but I don't really mind having to shave it down as I quite like my hair short.
did, I'll try and pay as much attentions as I can to the petri dish and ask for a break down. As I am curious as to where the 3 hair follicles tend to go, whether they go in to the crown etc.
Thanks to everyone for their advice and I'll do my best to document my case with high quality photos.Leave a comment:

When you have your procedure pay attention to petri dish to see how many singles, doubles and triples are there. You can ask him for breakdown of grafts that way you can calculate how many hairs you get per graft.
You can practise taking 'before' photos and post them here,Leave a comment:

Keep in mind that if you want to demonstrate regrowth, you'll have to shave it down again at some point. I'm now at day 4, made pictures every day, no regrowth yet but I'm already getting at the point where the other hairs are starting to overlap the small holes where the grafts were extracted ...Leave a comment:

Cool. That’s great. Anyway, to take really good “close-up” photos or “macro-photos” – you (or your girlfriend) have to train this NOW – before having your HST procedure!
For example – what’s the ideal distance from your camera’s lens to your head (or any other object/thing) with your camera? Every camera works somewhat different, so is your camera the “ideal camera” for such photos? Just a hint: Today, a new but rather CHEAP (but good) digital camera, should be sufficient for making such photos as gc83uk did.
Furthermore, what are the ideal exposure/light conditions for your camera and which camera settings are ideal for taking such close-up/zoom-in photos?
And finally, you need “a plan” IN ADVANCE, what exactly you want to show viewers (or yourself) and in which way (uploaded full resolution photos with just links to these photos or photos for forum postings etc) you want to show viewers your photos. And so on and so on …Leave a comment:
