so in simple words the bottom line is that with daily appropriate daily amount consumption of soya milk or tofu and pepper it can actually regrow hair? -
Find out bro, might take soy again.Hm...
the test results were accomplished by intake of 75 mg of isoflavones daily.
As they said - It's less than 1 liter of soy milk.
That guy from mens health drank 3 and more...
It's not like I'm protecting soy or anything.
Just trying to make some kind of conclusion here.
Maybe the test would prove effective even with lesser soy amount and bigger pepper amount?
Probably no one knows the answer cause it hasnt been tested yet..Leave a comment:

except that propecia only reduces your DHT levels where as soy also increases your estrogen....Well a di da.
Talk about side effects.
Soy is not dangerous it's just that if you wanted to use it as a hair loss treatment then you would need to consume it daily in high doses which will probably cause some problems...Leave a comment:

Well i've eaten lots of soy for the past 20 years of my life and im the first balding monkey.Well a di da.
Talk about side effects.
Ps, there are HUNDREDS of studies on soy all over the net, some say it's possibly dangerous for males (the one you found), some say it's completely safe (the one I found - Harvard study), but there is no study in the world which says finasteride is safe and sound 100% either.
My mom watched some horrible (but true) movie about what we eat, how is our meat processed, what chemical mayhem they pump into cows so they can make 50 times as much as milk etc.
Since then (about a year ago) she turned more and more to vegetarian/vegan food, I've been with her to vegan restaurants and talked to various males who eat soy based EVERYTHING for over 10 years and they seem quite normal, don't have tits, say their health is exceptional...
I don't know. There's always the risk.
hmmmm.
But I think whatever reduces DHT wether it's fin/herbs it will have the same impact, the problem is if your body can handle the low DHT.Leave a comment:

what the hell?
EDIT:
ok I'm out...Past studies and ideas showed how the phytoestrogens found in foods like the soy bean played positive roles on brain development and health. As of 2010, many people, including scientists who once believed soy was completely harmless for men and women, have started to question their previous positions.

That crossed my mind a minute ago!
Very good question - would it work in synergy? I think nobody tried that yet.
Or lived to tell.
EDIT:
help me out a bit with isoflavones, there are caps like these which pack SoyLife® Soy Germ Complex (2% soy isoflavones) 750 mg and are VERY cheap.
Does that mean they have only 2% of 750mg = 15 mg of isoflavones?
Isn't that quite low?
I'm asking because they used 75 mg daily in experiment.
Then again there are caps like these
that are more expensive but pack 60 mg of isoflavones per cap.
Which one is better?Leave a comment:

I wonder how effective would it be to use both fin AND soy isoflavones...Leave a comment:

I didn't say it was better.
Some of you who use fin for a longer period may compare these results, I didn't use it - ever. It doesn't mean I wont, just I would like to try some more natural alternatives.
I'm just passing the information.Leave a comment:

Capsaicin and Soy Isoflavones Promote Hair Growth
Based on our discussion in Tocotrienols thread - I'm opening a new thread about this experiment:
A teaspoon of dried chili pepper has enough capsaicin to increase IGF-1. (Photo by Giuliagas ) This is the third post in a series about the ...
I think it's a very interesting topic and results are quite good.
Conclusion
A combination of soy isoflavones and capsaicin increases dermal levels of IGF-1 and promotes hair growth in humans and mice. After 5 months, hair growth was significantly increased in 64.5% of human volunteers administered with capsaicin and isoflavone, compared with 11.8% in the placebo group. Furthermore, 88% of the participants suffering from androgenic alopecia saw a promotion of hair growth when given capsaicin and isoflavone. This suggests that the treatment might be more effective for male-pattern baldness than other types of hair loss.
Interestingly - tabasco has capsaicin 3000-8000 heat units, that is 5-10 times less than some chili peppers, but still good to use.
Unfortunately - Soy sauce does not contain a level of the beneficial isoflavones associated with other soy products such as tofu or edamame.
____________
Also (let me know if you want me to open another thread on this) it was proven on Harvard that green/black tea + isoflavones lowers
DHT bi over 70%
