    new hair tranplant procedure?

    Check this out guys..

A supposed new hair transplant procedure..

seems like all he's doing is claiming that there are different types of grafts that should be transplanted in different areas of your head..

I don't buy it.. the before and after pics do look impressive though..

My guess is as per usual patients are put on new regimes of propecia and rogain enhancing the effects..

Link for the lazy to video embed.

Important to maintain a healthy skepticism. That being said, does look interesting. 'Multiple Follicular Unit Graft'; interesting terminology, video. Thanks for the share!

As an aside, check out this video in addition to the first, which details a procedure being done by the Dr. [skip to 40s].
Shows the patients results 2 years post op. as well, towards the end of the video.

Personally, looks good to me. Intriguing.

the before/afters are REALLY good (i wish there was info on # of grafts), but wouldn't the big follicular units mean he is using a huge extraction tool? aka definite white dots and scaring in the donor?

@NeedHairASAP; Great point, hadn't thought about that. Probably need to do more research regarding methodology used to know for sure, but it's definitely something to consider concerning this procedure.

How is this any different from the F.U.E. procedures hair-transplant surgeons commonly have been performing since the early 2000s?

The distinction lies in the use of a 'Multiple Follicular Unit Graft', I believe, as explained in the first video. To my knowledge, for the purpose of greater density per transplanted 'group' of hairs.

This guy is doing old school mini an micro grafting. The press release is just to get him some traffic, there is nothing new here. A “multiple follicular init graft” is a mini graft. The same type of grafts used in the 1980s.

Right, but this is really just a follicular unit with a few more hairs per unit. There seems to be nothing substantially different here from what all other reputable hair-transplant surgeons do, in 2011.
