now do the same to create DP cells with this technique and we're done.

I still believe in Tsuji's work. He said 10 years. IMO he is honest and reliable person. In that study concerning skin he created hair. From riken's website:
One important key to the development was that treatment with Wnt10b, a signaling molecule, resulted in a larger number of hair follicles, making the bioengineered tissue closer to natural tissue.
Should I be more pessimistic?Comment

Guys I don't think this paper got the attention it deserves. These guys reprogrammed cells using small molecule drugs. No gene manipulation. No hormon based mediums. Just 9 simple chemicals at different doses.
This makes tissue engineering far less risky and potentially carcinogenic! This process is much closer to the natural regeneration that happens in animals like newts and salamander.
Another point: using normal iPS cell method only 0.1% of cultured cells are viable, whereas 97% of these cardiac cells were viable and could be transplanted.
It's a great day for tissue engineering indeed.Comment
