What does the word 'regrowth' mean ?

I promise this isn't a completely stupid question... Well, maybe it is.

When people use the term regrowth, do they mean an existing, visible follicle that grows in length alone or does it also concern thickness / size of shaft ?

Or is regrowth a term used to describe the rare example of slick areas growing visible follicles exclusively ?

Sorry if this has been covered before but I've always wondered and it helps for everyone if clarity on this issue is reinforced

No. A hair that's tiny and miniaturized becoming terminal is also a new cosmetically visible hair.

Regrowth of hair on slick bald areas is usually peach fuzz. Growing any significant amount of hair on slick bald scalp is extremely rare, and borderline impossible if it's been slick many years. Unless using transplanted hairs.

I would define regrowth if hair starts to grow on spots where there was no before. Unfortunately I have not experienced such a thing as regrowth so far.
