Thanks man. The thing is I still have that goddamn itch even while using RU + fin. I guess it could be the alcohol/propylene glycol irritating my scalp too though.
Regarding dutasteride, that's what my derm wanted to put me on first but I think I'm just too young for that. He said it was fine but I just don't know. Maybe when I'm 18 or 19 and the results from using fin + RU turn out to be a bit disappointing, then I might hop on dut
MPB at 18? Tell me bluntly, am I going to be bald by the time I reach mid-20s?

Many people on this forum like to keep hope, sugarcoat the truth, and keep believing that a cure is coming soon, but, you've asked for the truth and you deserve an honest answer. First, ignore all of the rosy outlooks about a cure that's "just around the corner" or "just five years away." That's just wishful thinking, but it's also insulting to one's intelligence.
I'm almost 48 years old and a NW4-5. I've been listening to the promises of a "cure" being "5 years away" since the mid 80s when I first started shedding and thinning. Of course, there are many more such promises now, but nothing substantial is in the pipeline. It's only hope and theories at this point. If it were anything more than that, we can be sure that it would be breaking news around the clock. We would know without a doubt. Instead, we see companies that emerge, make big promises, soak up investors' money, and disappear quietly into the night, only to be replaced by newer companies with "improved" ideas that never pan out.
Second, you asked if you will have MPB. No one on this forum knows. Seek advice from a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss, Nigguh.
What should you expect? Well, if you do lose your hair in the years ahead, expect to be treated very differently than if you had a full head of hair. When you wear a cap or hat, strangers will treat you normally. When you don't, they will either treat you very differently or avoid you entirely.
Expect to have a much harder time finding a woman worth having. Moreover, expect your self-confidence to take many major hits as a result. Bald or balding men are laughable in the eyes of most people. Most women worth having consider dating or being seen with a bald man in the same way that most guys consider dating or being seen with a fat woman. In both cases, it would be embarrassing and require a big drop in personal standards. I don't blame women at all. Most wouldn't date a bald man for the same reason that you and I wouldn't date a big fat woman. So, remember, it's the fault of this disease, not the women who are naturally and understandably repulsed by hairloss. They are human beings with personal standards, just like everyone else.
Okay, that's about it; the cold, hard truth as you requested. I wish you the very best. Let's hope that a miracle breakthrough happens, but at the same time, let's be realistic and ignore all of the hyperbole regarding possible cures in the near future. When it truly happens, it will be earth-shattering news, and we won't have to scour the bowels of an internet discussion forum about hairloss in hope of learning about a miracle cure.
Good luck,

Yeah what these guys kinda said. If you use RU + FIN together that's incredibly potent. First you inhibt 5ar2 and inhibit serum DHT around 70%~. Then you antagonize the androgen receptor by using RU which blocks ~70% of all DHT again and probably 100% of all testosterone;I don't want to derail his thread but as there's no option to pm, I'll have to do it this way.
Do you think RU+fin is overkill to start with? I wanted to do as much against balding as possible but I'm financially in a bit of a tough spot and RU, though it has gotten a lot cheaper over the years, is kind of expensive for me. Would I be able to drop the RU? I use 1mg ED and 70g RU / 2ml (3,5%), can't really use a higher dosage because of the price. I've been using RU at this concentration for over 4 months now and fin for approx 2 months.
I use minox too but that's not really relevant for this question I guess.
Perhaps you'll do fine on finasteride alone, as mentioned. Nobody can know really. Some people do continue to worsen on finasteride but that's a small percentage. However if fin alone doesn't cut it for you, you can possible look into dutasteride too? The guys who don't maintain on finasteride sometimes go for dutasteride and often that helps again. Good luck !RU58841 is an androgen receptor (AR) inhibitor capable of blocking 70% of DHT binding. When compared with the antiandrogenic compound cyproterone acetate, RU58841 exhibited a 20% increase in AR binding.Leave a comment:

You can't get a prescription for it or find it at a pharmacy or any other physical store for that matter. It's an experimental drug that was pulled during phase II at some point and is definitely a gamble. Try the Kane shop in Google. That's where I got mine. It's a white powder that looks like blow but you must dissolve it into liquid form before applying. I'm gunna refer you to Hellouser's thread on how to mix and apply. Just keep scanning this section for his manual you'll find it and then you can decide for yourself.Sorry guys if this is a dumb question. Where could i find RU? Is it avail at the local pharmacy or do i need a subscription? I googled ru snd got a bunch of nothing. Also is there a good trustworthy place of getting it? And has anyone had sides? Im terrified of fin cause it really messed up a buddy of mine so im stuck on minox only for now and a shampoo. Thx in advance fellasLeave a comment:

I read the finasteride can reduce dht up to 70%. If Ru can block most of the DHT in the scalp without going systemic then it seems that you could have a compound effect. Its too early to see results from Finasteride but Im seeing LOTS of new terminal and villous hair in my hairline. Hair that was completely invisible before. I was shedding like crazy for the past year, only now is it starting to slow down but my density is has been increasing along with the shedding. If my shedding stopped then I will have Hellouser level results. I just want to stabilize and improve those results with the big 3.I don't want to derail his thread but as there's no option to pm, I'll have to do it this way.

Thanks for replying. I'm 17 and diffuse thinning (beginning thinning hair in nw5 pattern for now) with very slight recession. I figured I could use all the help I can possibly get and thus fin and ru could do it, but I haven't heard that many people talk about using fin + ru as a combo so that's what's getting me a bit nervous. Like I said, money doesn't grow on trees and RU is kinda expensive though it's manageable at this concentration. It's definitely not overkill. But it also depends on how sensitive you are to the balding process. RU and Fin have different mechanisms of action. Fin cuts down DHT conversion while RU blocks receptor binding. Certain people are so sensitive to DHT that they still bald slowly on Fin. IDK how sensitive you are. If you are like 30 and a NWII you should be fine with just Fin. But if you are a premature balder, you probably need the combination.Leave a comment:

Also Im 26 now so hair transplants aren't as ridiculous as in your early 20's. I feel like Ive stabilized any further loss and believe there could be a lot more results to come. Im going with Dr. Rahal too and he's no hack. Even if I continue to lose hair I can go in for a follow up and make it look like I just have loss in the vertex.@thebrock or anyone else can you answer these questions for me. *Ibread on a few forums that total testerone goes up but free testosterone goes down with Fin? Is this true. I believe the Egyptian study said it. I known merk studies suggest that T rises but in normal range and so does E. So how can one benefit if it's such a small increase. I know they suggest you shouldn't get sides cause E only rises a little bit. Lastly someone suggested that E has some benefits on muscle growth ability. Is this true? I'm going to start fin until I can afford Ru and everything else that I need to prepare it with. Then after that it should be cost efficient since Ru is a lot cheaper now. Btw I had a hair transplant with rahal it was pretty good compared to my other doctors. But I was a repair patient. I had a ht when I was 19 when I was a norwood one, it was stupid and doc just wanted to make money on me. Then I went to a respectable ht doc and he gave me bad results to, so rahal kind of fixed both of their mistakes. Imo hair transplants are not worth it, just moving hair from one place to the next is not a great solution. My donor is very thin from the procedure, I wear hats every where but you can still see the back is thin even with the hat on. If I was you I would wait two years then make this decision. Remember once you get a ht it can't be undone like other procedure. And if a new breakthrough happens like replicel I'm not sure it will work between the hair transplant hairs, they might turn your original hairs off for good. I'm not sure if something like jahoda cell treatment will work on us ht people. That's why I'm hoping lauster comes through for us cause lab grown follicles will be like implanted hairs from the donor site. But even then they will only be able to graft them so close. The good thing is you only need about 50 grafts per cm to look like you are not balding, but hopefully with an unlimited donor source doctors can graft them closer. Alot of them get worried about putting them to close and not having them grow. But with unlimited donor you can take that risk and not worry about running out of hair.Leave a comment:

Only RU mate. Thickening & stability primarily with a bit of regrowth. I might add in fin one day though if my hair doesn't hold anymore.Leave a comment:

How come it doesn't make sense? I'm going to start with fin and see how I do but I plan on switching to Ru eventually. I may run Fin with fareston. Its a pretty new serm and suppose to have the safest profile out of all the serms.Leave a comment:

Thanks, I am familiar with the study, it just doesnt make sense.@ko1 here's the link where a guy post the study in free testosterone getting reduced. It was a small egyptian study of 30 men.
