.Why don't you understand my question? My question is pretty simple.
Did Merck ask posters at hair loss websites for help with Propecia trial? Did Upjohn ask posters at hair loss websites for help with Rogaine trials? Can you please show me examples of drug companies asking posters at websites for help getting their treatments into studies? I've never seen this happen before. That is my comment.
Well I agree it's very unusual but there is a first time for everything.
Also remember we are not dealing with a multi billion dollar company like Merck here, so I don't see why not try to help as much as we canComment

That is the beauty of Follicept. No other company has been this open and transparent. And it is not like they came in right off the bat asking us to look for IGF-1 suppliers. Devon told us that CLINICAL grade (not regular research grade) IGF-1 is difficult to get even though they have been trying their best. Plus they have narrowed down 1-2 suppliers without our help anyway. Some of the posters on here took it upon themselves to help Follicept look for more suppliers since the IGF-1 supply arrival is slow, and there is no reason for Follicept to stop people on here from looking for more suppliers. I really see nothing odd with that. Merck won't ever get the opportunity of having posters on BTT helping them because, well, they will never be so open to the point that we will find ways to help them or make things easier. Plus clinical grade IGF-1 manufacturers are RARE!! Not like the stuff that Merck is dealing with..Why don't you understand my question? My question is pretty simple.

Prometheon is not a mega pharma corporation, Devon must do alone every business related stuff and he is at the beginning of his career, the chance we discover a good supplier even before him are high, so it's ok
Sadly i'm going through a shedding (dunno if it's the season) phase and i lost another 10% of my hairs, i wish i could know if this works so i can avoid taking pills, but i don't think we will see a trial before another month, well i will wait the supplier update next week then i will pull the trigger and start with fina if they are still doing "paper stuff" sigh, it's the unknown schedule that it's hurting us, and i know devon is doing his best
If i were in him i will ask ipsen about a vial or two of increlex, they are selling their batch this days (they could send him for free if lucky), they will answer for sure in 1 business day, if they say yes maybe we can have some results in few weeks, meanwhile the original supplier can finish their freaking paper and start the business if worksComment

lol... times have changed. bio-med startup costs are now low enough that you'll see a lot more small-team companies like this (especially working to commercialize the IP of university research)Why don't you understand my question? My question is pretty simple.

I am new here, so let me apologize in advance for trolling on my first post - I just couldn't resist. I have been laughing my butt off at this question. Minoxidil came out in 1988 and Finasteride in 1992. First Internet forum - 1994..... Even funnier that several people jumped on the bandwagon with this train of thought....Comment

Please keep us updated Follicept. We are really counting on you guys. Going to take a break from the forum for the weekend at least. I really hope some good news happens next week.Comment

OK needhairasap so you're saying that this is the new scientific order and according to you this is how things are going in the treatment development process today. So please tell me which of the below hair loss researchers are also using this new method of treatment development in hair loss research? Which of these researchers are asking regular-guys at websites to contact chemical companies for them to help set-up clinical tials:
1. Jahoda
2. Christiano
3. Lauster
4. Cotseralis
5. Histogen
6. Replicel
7. Shisheido
8. Glaxo
9. Anybody besides Follicept
After all, since this is the new way you should be able to come up with at least one more company, one more researcher, who is asking regular guys at hair loss websites to contact chemical companies to try to find chemicals for the researcher in an effort to get clinical trials set-up?????Comment

You're insane.
I never said Nigam's pics weren't photo-shopped. I said that Nigam claimed he himself did not photoshop the photos and not one of his accusers had any proof that he actually did photoshop those photos himself. I also said that even if he didn't photo-shop the photos himself he was still responsible for the photos-hopping since it came from his facility. But I recognized that he apologized for the photo-shop (purportedly done by an employee rather than Dr. Nigam himself) and promised it would never happen again. After he made that promise I did not see anymore photo-shopping from his office.
That's my story...I'm sticking to it...and my facts are correct.Comment

So then you're saying that the modern hair loss researcher is soliciting hair website posters for help in setting-up clinical trials. Please name other modern hair loss researchers who are soliciting help from regular-guy posters at hair websites for help with setting up clinical trials? How about naming just one other modern company/researcher who is doing this?Comment

Asking regular-Joe posters at hair websites to contact chemical companies to try to secure chemicals to aid a researcher set-up clinical trials seems unheard of to me. I'm not saying that this means that Follicept is a scam. I'm just commenting that this out of the ordinary and we all need to keep our eyes open for irregularities. It looks to me like only a few of us are keeping our eye on the ball. Some of us want this to work a cure so bad that we are not paying close enough attention to the details.
I don't know if Follicept is going to work or not. I hope it does work. I have not ruled out that it will work. I have posted a handful of posts stating that we should wait to see the results before we come to a conclusion and I have also posted that I doubt that Follicept will rig false positive results because they have to protect their reputation. But the same way as I'm paying attention to the positive reasons why they are probably a good-faith company that will conduct a fair clinical trial and tell us the truth, I would be foolish to not also take note of things that look suspiciously out of the ordinary. I think we should all be paying attention to both the positives and the negatives about Follicept.
I do not think that the mere fact that Follicept has solicited help from regular guy posters here on its' own means that the company's treatment idea is dubious or snake-oil. That is not what I'm saying. All I'm saying is that I'm paying attention to the positives and the negatives and I think we all should be doing the same.Comment
