Do you think there will be a cure by 2025?

If you believe what many informed and respected scientists tell you, we are on the cusp of a major boom in technological advancement. Currently, this advancement seems limited to computing capabilities; Moore's Law has been accurate in that computer processing capabilities double roughly every other year. This is of course different from technology itself advancing at an exponential rate.
By and large, we are experiencing a relative lull in terms of advancement. If you look at the decade or so since the first iPhone was released, it has only really changed with regards to the features mentioned above. More RAM, more pixels for the camera, less bulk/ more aerodynamics due to less space needed for greater data processing. But even the iPhone 5 looks and operates in a very similar fashion to its' original predecessor. This is nothing compared to the Internet boom from the late 80's to the early/ mid 2000's that revolutionized business strategy and people's daily lives more than anyone could have anticipated.
Of course, bio-tech is more difficult in that the inner workings of the human body are much more intricate and complex than even the world's best computers. There's still quite a bit we don't know, especially about the human brain. I'd expect though, that a couple of massive discoveries will completely alter the picture in the next decade and this question will be laughable. The fact that we're decades into hair loss research and still no drug has been specifically designed and released for this purpose have come to market skew people's opinions; you need to remember that prior performance is not an indicator of future progress. Optimistic thinkers believe that we will be on the verge of artificial super-intelligence in less than 50 years. That is, a computer that has the processing capabilities 1 million times greater than an average person's, with the added ability to interpret emotions and recognize facial expressions - better than human beings. It sounds ridiculous now, but again, that's because progress has been relatively stagnant over the last 10 years. There's no doubt in my mind that every single person on this forum will live to see what basically amounts to a "cure" in the next decade or two; obviously that's still bad news for most people frequenting this board though.Comment

Seriously guys, things are looking better everyday. if yall mean a cure in the form of being able to walk into a clinic near your house and get all your hair back at once then yeah we're still pretty far away. Remember that a "cure" for many people can take the form of getting a HT and taking propecia, or even a hair piece. While obviously that is not the majority and really doesn't include most of us here, the treatments will improve and more people will be out of this mess. The treatments are looking more and more promising, but even if they weren't, bitching on a forum and bringing everyone else down won't help anything. Plus, we really don't know the research that is going on right now, a stem cell cure could come this year, and be offered in within a couple of years in countries like Japan. We just don't know.Comment

If replicel works then it will be a cure for most young people. I'd say chances are 50/50
In the meantime I'm focusing on learning acceptance. Many of my friends are already very bald and doing well, and as a 32 year old guy I should be ok with being on the way. Some of my friends didn't live this long, so you have to just be happy you're alive. Everyone gets hit with some major bullshit in life, Im happy I have a nice head and face and will just shave it down if the time comes, which is probably is soon
Been trying RU this week but it just makes my nuts feel awful haha. maybe will give it a week.Comment

Already done bro. I just saw geordie shore ( uk version of jersey shore) and i thought to myself. Wtf are these idiote blessed with beautiful hair and we are getting bald ahahahah. Na but i just wondered how far donor regeneration is for us. For me that is also a cure. As long as you can doe unlimited hairtransplants, im happy.Comment

May not be so, depending upon how bad your loss is. If you take meds, you could potentially get quite a good transplant depending upon characteristics.Comment

I just watched particle fever, which is about the large hadron collider, and pretty much every scientist is bald as ****. Definitely a link between smarts and baldness I thinkJust embrace it.

I wouldn't wait for it. shakespeare once said "many is the man with more hair than wit"

Ahaha i wish the chicks would think the same. They rather have these chuck bass types dan a balding 24 year old.Comment

Maybe but smart chicks exist too. My boy was balding at 24 and always killin it with the girls. It's more about your attitude and looks in general. At 32 most of the chicks i know my age don't care either way about hair. I still have hair that most people don't think is balding, but have bald friends that do much better than I do cause they have their lives more in order. and Ive been with a few girls that really dig bald guys. Just stay fit and prosperous.Comment

And if england sucks just move elsewhere. In spain and italy girls care way less about balding, and in the USA its not a huge deal either by your 30's. anyway a hot partner in life can also be the worst one. better to find someone you respect as a person. Don't let this shit get you down man. At least in england there are plenty of bald dudes, shouldn't be a weird thing over there. Id hate to be 24 and balding as a chinese or thai man. there it can really mess up your game.Comment

Thanl you man. I lnow there are girls who like it but there is this one girl ahahahah.
I am balding but i still do have hear. I just hope that the next year something like donor regeneration or stem cell will be available. I know that not possible but i hope for a miracle.
Another question: normally they take hair from the back for a hair transplant. Why dont they alsof take hair from the side. Does anyone know that?Comment
