That's the problem, my friend. 'A few years' means at least10 years before something MIGHT make it to the market. Look at all the findings about PGD2/PGE2. Those have been around since 2006 and we still don't have any specific PGD targeting medicines.

Maybe something can accelerate this, such as crowdfunding topic suggests...

The word cure is so over used. Why even use the word cure in some extremely preliminary research like this? I mean future treatment is a stretch but much more believable. I take cure to mean you can regrow any amount of hair you want and its completely under human control

Hi Hellouser , I can't forget last year in a dermaroller forum a day before new year you wrote :

All I want is my hairline back..my hairline back .

It was simple . I wish you've got good result with your hair this year or at least get better result in the next year my friend.

This article gives me a major Déjà vu feeling.

The article btw is also featured on the dailyfail website where it says

The study's authors believe their findings could also influence approaches to tissue regeneration, ageing and cancer.

Yeahyeah, it's a miracle I tell you. It cures baldness, cancer, anti-aging, probably Alzheimer, Aids, Ebola and creates unicorns.
Just to give you an impression of the reliability of the article.

Although i am not really active in this forum and just try to find news about this topic from time to time - i did find this article.
It says that some scientists have accidentally found a cure for baldness.

They were looking for a cancer treatment and could reactivate hair follicles. The tests on mice have been succesful and now they will do further human testings.

A cancer research expert has accidentally discovered a way to cure baldness that would remove the need for hair transplants. Dr. Mirna Perez-Moreno from...

Hope that this is exciting news for you and i can end 2014 with a smile in your faces )
This "short" version doesn't do the research paper justice. Here is where you can download the original study.
The original article indicates new information on a "piece of the puzzle" of hair loss. Other factors are involved that need to be addressed. Another step in the right direction, but not a cure.

Not that I like feminist, I even consider myself an anti feminst, but so far I haven't heard of feminist trying to prohibit research on men's health, at least not from my country. Be that as it may. Both genders have benefited greatly from research on health.

You then drag in average life span and the way you wrote your post it seems like you say feminist prohibit research on male health, therefor women live longer by 4-6 years. This is dishonest, there are many factors here:

                  - Infant boys die more often than infant girls as of percentage.
                  - Men work more than women, so more stress full life.
                  - Men work in riskier jobs than women, higher chance of death.
                  - Way more men die in war than women.
                  - And men are at a much higher risk of assault in general.
                  - More men smoke, and they tend to smoke more.
                  - More men drink, and use drugs in general....
                  - Men commit more suicide than women.

Just to name a few factors. I understand you are frustrated, and I guess you will continue to be there until there is a cure-one-time-operation-no-side-effects-treatment. I don't blame you for that, I share the same frustration perhaps.

probably because you sound batchit crazy half the time. i can't find fault with the notion that a serious doctor won't give you the time of day.

Tell me; how far have you got with any openness from researchers by being a good little boy?

I've spoken to many researchers and other people I didn't know prior to emailing. You can't send them psychotic emails full of rage and conspiracy theories. Obviously they aren't going to respond to that.
