: ) someone should start a Facebook fan page to request and ask for more research to be done to cure baldness!!!! To start up something similar to the ice bucket challenge for the ASL.
We have the American hair loss association : )

Yup. Positional Good theory in full effect.

The only way for privileged men with hair to realize and put worth for their superiority is through the existence of those LESS fortunate... men that are bald. How would a man with hair know the value of it if nobody was bald?

I hope for the absolute worst for humanity. I've never had much faith in people.... the last three years I've begun to really hate those around me.

That's not totally true, what about the guys with full heads of hair that know one day they'll go bald or guys that are scared it will eventually happen? They would definitely want/like to know there was a method to save them a lot of bull shit. Just a thought to consider.

Yeah!!! Hellouser you are absolutely right: Life is hair and follicles, nothing else matters.

You give humanity far too much credit. They don't care now, and they sure as hell don't care about YOUR situation either. Until it hits them, you and I are scum to the privileged masses.

You need a reality check.... either that or live a little longer and eventually you'll realize that most people, if not damn near all are leeches.

Take your own advice though about psychotherapy and delusions.

I wonder how many people are actively wishing that you do not grow your hair back at this very moment? I'd wager to say its zero.

Are there people out there hoping to come up with a solution that will grow your hair back and make em rich? You can bet your ass there are.

I agree with you about the privileged masses and their gross abuse of society, but I disagree with your view on humanity. Humanity can be a beautiful thing, and it can be a ugly thing. I enjoy the beautiful aspects of it, maybe you should too.

We are ALL part of the privileged masses. I presume that every person on this forum is lucky enough to have a decent standard of living, since we are all able to utilise various luxuries such as the internet.

Real suffering is not hair loss. Real suffering is not having access to clean water, lack of proper sanitation, inadequate shelter, no medication, lack of freedom of speech, freedom of worship worship and living under oppressive and tyrannical rule. I recently returned from a trip to the Far East and some of the poverty I witnessed there makes me feel so fortunate that I happen to have been born in the first world.

Hair loss is not nice but it is nothing compared to real problems such as the aforementioned. It's quite pathetic and totally shameful how some people curse their lives and their luck by virtue of having hair loss. It could be so much worse!

And saying problems are relative is just totally ignorant and ungrateful. If hair loss is the biggest problem you face than count yourself lucky.

thank you, thank goodness there are some sane and humane people on this forum. No one is rooting for anyone else to go bald, nor do they really think about the status of your hair. When I had great hair I had bald friends and never felt superior because I had hair. Did i like my hair? sure, but if i knew my friends were suffering (which they weren't as much as people like hellouser, because they have their priorities straight) i would only wish that their suffering could find a solution. I think most people are like that. At least the people who matter.

In other news, what ever happened to desmond? So much positivity and seemingly endless faith for there being a cure soon but I feel like we never really heard why he was so upbeat about future prospects. I don't really know whether to feel hopeful or not about a cure coming, seems like there hasn't been much news lately about all the stem cell stuff, and doesnt seem like the alopecia news has any relevance, at least none that anyone is looking into.

Also hellouser, i do see a therapist, i think it's good for everyone, and most of what i talk about in therapy has nothing to do with hair, but instead with real problems. Your problem is not hair either, it's your inability to cope with loss and your subsequent embitterment. You do yourself and the people who surround you a disservice by not addressing the real problems, which have more to do with your attitude. Hair loss blows, we all get it. so what are you gonna do? hate everyone and be a sad sack or be productive and positive and a lover anyway and make friends who care about you for the right reasons? Though it can be tempting, I think only the weak and unimaginative choose the first option.

Hey sdsurfin, Desmond actually is on the same boat as us after the visit of the hair conference I think he is also aware that Dr. Lauster's team is the closest but still many years remain from lab to the market.

This kind of lack of news is normal we used to go for half a year before anything relevant being published. I don't think we will hear any news until next year with another "step forward". And although it is kind of annoying, check the search for cure for HIV, Alzheimer's or better treatment for various cancers. IT is always some step forward or breakthrough and then nothing...
