JarJarbinx ('nameless') ... PLEASE stop posting questions !! I know you mean good. I know you really do. But you're really flooding Dr Gardner with questions.
Really I don't mean to be mean but I'm afraid that if you keep doing this Dr Gardner will give up quickly. So, please AT LEAST consider posting only 1 question per time, dont flood/spam, and really ask yourself: why do I want to know this, isnt this something that he must have figured out himself and does my question add something to the forum ? And also just READ his responses a few times because it seems you dont even understand what he's saying a lot of times and then just move on to the next question.
A better use of our time is deciding who to try to crowdfund. I still think it's a great idea, and Xu seems to be lacking funding but also pushing for the most complete creation of follicles from scratch, and involving all the necessary hair structures, which I think is eventually going to be the ticket. In any case, anything he learns will be relevant to what the other teams are doing, due to the nature of his approach. he's also been very open to the idea, which is great, and Penn is a reputable institution. Cotsarellis does good research but I really don't think the cure is going to come from his team, they are all star researchers with professorships and tons going on, and their collective focus is not to create new hair. Follica had a good idea, but I'm pretty positive there's no "trolling" going on. The whole wounding thing surely just wasn't that successful, and thus they have few funds. Hopefully his team will contribute to a better treatment, but who knows if any of that pgd2 stuff will be of any use. Just because one gene is elevated in the scalp and inhibits growth doesnt mean that blocking it will stop hair loss. It's probably just one of many chemical pathways that play a part.Leave a comment:

I see the same questions being asked about release dates, clinical trails. Have some of you guys not been following things on here lately? Those are the type of things you worry about when some of the key problems have been solved. At this point, there's still a lot of work left to be done. Nobody knows exactly how long it will take to solve but the moment there's something cosmetically and commercially viable, we'll know and they'll work on getting it out there. Until then, don't forget that these guys are researchers, not businessman trying to sell you a product.Leave a comment:

first sorry for english...
ok guys..i will try to sumarize my knowlidge after 2 years of reading hairloss forums for lets say every day and hopefully help somebody...have read almost everything written on this subject...
it want be science, it will be more what to do and what to expect for new guy...
1. problem baldness (androgenetic alopecia) big THANKS to dr. GARDNER
every body included me was hopping that cure for baldness is coming soon but it is not...they dont know what is the real problem or how many things is involved in aga...they are working on problems + lab follicless...it is much more complicated that we all thought!!!
BUT the real problem is US...we all have some sort of psihological problem and one poster said it good:" if its not AGA IT WILL BE SOMETHINNG ELSE"!!!
if you know that lets say 50% of world population has some sort of aga by the age of 40 then if you count just all views on all hairloss forums you will see that only views make less then 1 % of all aga suffers in the world...sou we are sou small minority and the best CURE will be ACCEPTANCE AND MOVING ON... but like we all know for some its not possible...sou
2. SOLUTIONS by power
1. hair transplantation
2.spiro: never take that (only if transgender) - works
2. dutasteride: pill ( i wouldnt take that) - works
3. finasteride: pill (only if you cant fix problem 1. by acceptance) - works
4. oral minoxidil (dont take this) - works
5. ru 58841 - (experimental topical)- works
6. minoxidil- works by some degree and on some people ( foam is great)
7.laser therapy- lets say helps
8. prp -lets say helps
9. vitamins- helps
10. dermarolling- helps
11. neogenic ( new topical, yet to see if it works but i bealive that at least helps)
11. healthy eating, non smoking, not stressing etc... ( helps)
3. hope solutions
1 .cb- 03-01 works
2. ocooo459
3. piloxll
4. psi and similar ( will be testing for results on another forum)
4. near future
1. replicell
2. histogen
3. follica
5. CURE
YET TO ANSWER!!!
first you need to know that everything on the list doesnt mean that it will work even if you use everything every day, because it depends on sou many factors but also if you are lucky only 1 thing like finasteride can work really well...
sou if you cant fix the problem by acceptance and moving on then you need to find the balance between solutions and your daily routine that you dont **** your self even more by thinking all the time about baldness. also start slow, worm your self up like sport guys... for example i started with minoxidil 1.4 year ago and it is easy and safe start..also if you are lucky and it works dont add anything untill you need..
i wasnt that lucky sou:
my regime now is:
minoxidil: 1 day- 1.4 year
finasteride 0.5, 4 -months
ru58841 5% - 15 days
did 3 months dermarolling with 1.5 needless
results: yet to see!
ideal for me will be that i start to get some results by this regime and after couple months just continue with ru58841 mixed in minoxidil...but we will see...
i hope that i helped at least some newbie...also if someone think that i missed something please give input..also remember that this is written by memory inn late hour where i live..Leave a comment:

I'm glad that i'm healthy i hope i will be for many years.
This is the most important thing.
I't would be nice to have a cure, but there are other health issues worst than baldness and we should be happy at least for that.
My special thank's mr Gardner.Leave a comment:

I understand you're depressed by your hairloss. Welcome to the club, we all are. But I think you are overly focussed on 'understanding AGA'. Really, who cares about AGA if you can get an unlimited amount of new follicles that are pretty much AGA resistant (exactly like the follicles in your donor zone) ?
And I also understand not everybody is interested in the science, some (maybe even most) just want a cure and move on. But if that's the case, then maybe it's best to just stop reading this 'cutting edge' section of the forum and move on with your life. Really, the moment a pre-clinical cure is found, it will be ALL over the news anyway.
Others would like to understand where we exactly are and what's still standing between us and a cure. And Dr Aaron Gardner has been doing a really great job explaining that ! It's so good to finally read some interesting stuff here on this board after years of non-info, scam artists and forum members fighting each other (pretty much a summary of the last few years here)
+ a BIG 1
It's a nonsensical waste of time to focus a lot of energy on understanding all of the ins and outs of AGA. The scientists don't know 100% everything about what's involved with AGA yet and if the're going to first get to the bottom of what's involved with AGA before they focus on what might treat it then we are going to have to wait 20+ years for an effective treatment.
Aga is NOT the kind of disease that you would have to know every last detail about before you could produce an effective treatment. The scientists already have enough basic information needed to start trying various things in the lab to try to treat the condition. I can't understand why would any balding guy would want the scientists to wast a decade or more on figuring out every last detail involved in AGA before simply trying to create a solution to the problem.
This disease does not require all of the inherent facts to be known in order to treat it effectively.Leave a comment:

Hey guys, I've been waiting for someone to make this thread because I do'nt know enough about this subject to ask Dr Gardner anything, lol.
Could somebody explain Gardner's explanations in layman's terms? I'm a mechanical engineer and I haven't taken a biology course since my freshman year.
From what I can understand it seems like Jahoda's research has to do with injecting a compound into the scalp to stimulate hair growth which reminds me of the PRP treatment that was covered a few years ago. What is the difference between the two? PRP also uses the patient's own cells to create growth factors to create hair.
I'm also curious about Dr Gardner's statements about how his research is not really a cure. Assuming that his research goes without a hitch, he mentioned that we'd still need co treatments so that MPB wouldn't take away the new hairs as well.
Would this still be necessary if they multiplied the cells from hairs that were immune to to MPB? EG. the back of the head.Leave a comment:

Your problems are not irrelevant. It's just that the problems you think you have are not the real ones. You have psychiatric hang ups that have nothing to do with baldness. I'm concerned for your happiness and your ability to influence younger people on here in the wrong way. Being proactive is great, but acting like baldness is a good reason to be miserable or putting down researchers for just doing their job within the confines of bureaucracy or creating this nonsense conspiracy that haired people are out to keep bald people down is really messed up. Everyone is happy about what is lucky or good about them. I'm happy I have a good face and a strong body but I don't go out and laugh at those who don't or consider them inferior creatures. Most people (and all people of value and intelligence) are like me in that respect. I fact, we love people even more when they have "flaws" and overcome them. I was beautiful for 25 yrs of my life. It never made it any easier, mist people are insecure and jealous and will envy you for your lucky qualities. Baldness sucks but it's not a huge deal compared to the billion other serious problems that life can throw at you. And if you hate Toronto then move. I have a bald Canadian friend and he never had any problems succeeding. My gf right now prefers bald men to men with hair. Curing baldness will rock, but let's stay strong men in the meantime.Leave a comment:

Suggesting that my problems are irrelevant is insulting. Everyone's problems are relevant. There's a lot wrong with what you wrote but I'm not going to respond because you simply don't care like most other people.
I'll stick to the topic at hand though; Expediting trials for a quick release. None of this 10 year bullshit. I'm not suggesting skipping trials altogether but rather condensing them.Leave a comment:
