Yes he is. I've also just setup the account, just need to wait 1-2 days for my credit card verification. So hopefully we can get this thing going soon !

You can setup a donations page that skirts around the paypal fees.

Hmm I've set up a business account but specified charity as business goal. Not sure if that's what you mean ?

However, just be careful with receiving funds in excess amount, Paypal can catch on and lock your account from further activity.. I think thats what happened on another private forum with a group buy... a LOT of money was coming in and they wanted proof to see what the payments were for.

You can have a donations function. Regular transfers have a fee but donations have a very small amount. Look here:

Accept donations in minutes with PayPal. It works just like our checkout button and makes it safer and faster to fundraise online around the globe.

Well if they do something like that, I will take the risk and fund Desmond myself for the amount that's in the account and then sort it out later with paypal myself. I'm sure I could get such a situation resolved with them.

It'll get resolved eventually, but im just giving you a heads up. Hopefully $3k isn't something they should be alarmed about, it really isn't that much cash.

If anything, we can continue to support Desmond while he's there by sending funds online.

However, he REALLY needs a voice recorder of some kind. Theres no way he's going to take notes in all of the presentations.

It's $2000 actually: total is $2800, Desmond is willing to chip in $500, I chip in $300 myself which I will wire to him directly, so this account only needs to raise $2000 in donations. I dont think that will raise any red flags.

It shouldn't! 2k is an easy goal. 20-40 members all pitch in between $50-100 and we're golden.

                        *EDIT:

We should rope in guys from other forums, perhaps even women on women's hair loss forums.

Can we start a new thread specifically for this and keep track of how much we can collect for him to go? We need some more awareness and organization of the funds. I can start a thread on ***

I'm planning to start a new thread here when the account is ready to go and then will post the account info in the first post of the thread. Hopefully tomorrow or otherwise the day after.

K, I'll keep an eye out for it and do my share on ***. Desmond's going to get to see South Korea, get informed and have an all expenses paid mini vacation and potentially find the holy grail for our troubles. This is gonna to be a huge experience for him

Lets try and raise more than the goal. Desmond should not have to put up $500 of his own money; but it is very kind of him to say he will!
