    ACell & PRP

    Hi,

The biggest hair transplant clinic in Norway, Poseidon, have recently advertised with a new ACell and PRP treatment. They claim that it will stop hair loss in 70% of patients, and regrow 30% hair. So they basically say its a cure. I have no clue what ACell is, neither who this doctor Gary Hitzig that they cooperate with is. Does anyone have information? How long has this been available, and how big of a scam is it?

Acell and PRP are not effective, you are being led up the garden path.

The only treatments that work are Finasteride, Minoxidil and Nizoral.

    Nothing else works.

Jesus Christ man do a google search/forum search on Bald Truth, HairSite or even HLH - Acell & PRP have been discussed to death - your laziness irritates me - pointless threads like this just clutter up the forum.

Jens, I think the jury is still out on PRP + Acell as a standalone treatment. I have yet to see convincing before and after photos from Dr. Hitzig. However, Dr. Cooley has released a number of pictures that indicate significant improvement. Unfortunately, he has not provided any info. regarding his success rate. Dr. Cole also has published a few before and after photos on the forums that seem to show improvement.

                I agree with this statement.

$2k for a treatment? I'd need some hardcore facts.

I am convinced, that we have to go back to snake oil. There must be some truth to it, snakes are very powerful creatures and they might have the cure .

I don't think that Acell & PRP are scams at all. At least they have some legit science behind them. I just don't think they have worked nearly as well as people would've hoped so far.
