Guys, get real. Those haircuts look nice since the guys wearing them still have side hair. What you suggest (inversion of NW6 hair distribution) would look like crap because it will leave nothing on the sides and a tattoo is not going to make up for it (or, even worse, it will ruin your appearance some years later).

Those pics are not a good representation of the concept. They are just normal high fades. I used to go to a black barber in high school and get a high razor fade and it literally looked like I had zero hair in my donor zone. It looked good with thick hair on top but I don't think there are any doctors that would do it, even if they had a truly scarless procedure

Stigma + hassle is the answer. If there was more acceptance and the systems were perfected, then much more people would wear them.

I am still not convinced that this is a good idea. Shaving you hair and having no hair at all are two different things, appearance wise.

Oh I can agree, I was just talking about the theory that was being thrown around. It is probably a pointless theory anyways because I am not sure any doctor would do this anyway

I wonder why layering pound after pound of makeup with practically a paint roller doesnt get anywhere near the kind of scrutiny that hair treatments do.

Of course it is most likely that if you took ALL hair from the back and sides and then replaced the hair with SMP tattoo that it would look stupid.

But that is not the idea....

This method if done could deplete the back and sides by say 50% (maybe that would be going to far - I don't know what sort of percentage surgeons limit themselves to extracting) anyway say up to 50% was left, then you will still have the texture of hair.....no idea what this alone would look like buzzed down, may be ok..........but if not...get SMP tattoo to 'thicken' it up.

-You get more donor to use on top.

-Your donor hair looks thick

-You get a nice hairstyle.


Yes some guys won't like the short back and sides look but those that do.....this could be an option.

I would quite happily get this done if I had a bit more money.

If you were to take 50% of follicles from all around your head in the DHT-Free zone, would it be anywhere near 12,000 thousand grafts in total to cover the entire top of a NW6?

Each case is different, some men would require 12k, others 15k and then it also depends on desired density...
