this is also why I said "continue"... human been thinks they are more important than anything else. Animals should be protected, not eaten and tested as we do.. This world is not mine

OMG this is more than big news!

Remember the method Tsuji lab used to grow hair follicles? They grew the hair germs to maturity by implanting it into the subrenal capsules of a mouse. They then extracted these mature hair germs and implanted it on the back of another mouse using the FUT method!

Where they're stuck is how do we grow these germs to maturity in humans? We can't use the patient's kidneys to do it? So what's the solution?

This new technique may very well be what Tsuji lab was waiting for! Assuming all risks are taken into account, these trials will be revoltionising medicine as we know it!

It wont matter whether baldness is an aesthetic condition rather than a medical one! If we can grow hair germ follicles, if the technology is there then there's nothing stopping it from coming to the market!

We have to think outside the box as Nigam does. We have to try different methods and not fear the unknown but embrace it, experiment with it!

Some may say we are playing God! Don't forget God may have made us based on his own image! Human beings are amazing creatures.

We had a Professor that always used to end his lectures with this line:

“When you walk to the edge of all the light you have and take that first step into the darkness of the unknown, you must believe that one of two things will happen. There will be something solid for you to stand upon or you will be taught to fly.” - Patrick Overton

Even if we don't end up flying...we MUST take the leap into darkness

Human is God. All is God. Each particular, as part of the Whole.

Yes we are the only one to destroy our own world, to make injustice day after day all around the world, to accept the fact that children cant get food because of us, to think that animals dont have pain and feeling. Most human been are selfish and cant see beyond the tip of their nose.

Coruption, polution, war, pooverty, animals conditions.. no one care, this just make me sad rather than furious

Coruption, pollution, war, poverty, animals conditions, selfish behaviour are all the result of scarcity!

We must create abundance to prevent all these horrible things we deal with today! And science is our only way out! We may need pigs now, but as technology advances we may no longer need them! Just as we are working on a chip technology that will remove all necessity for animal studies!

Your absolutely right. The hair follicle is a relatively simple organ to grow. If we can get a pig blanketed with our own human hair, we could scalp the pig (FUT) and have more than enough hair to fill our own recipient area without worrying about donor scars.

How far off would something like this be, if it were to become a reality?

Transplant the pig's hair via FUT and then eat the pig. There's something macabrely funny in how that sounds

Dafuq is the point of growing human organs in animals? How about growing human organs in HUMANS FIRST?

Depends how much of a stink women make about hair loss. Nobody cares about mens problems.

I am almost convinced that this is the case. Women have too much power these days. You see the other discussion about hair systems? Good points made, yet no one seems to realize that if women were trained to require hair on men no matter what (hair systems included), instead of avoiding them when they are bald, things would be very different today. Hair systems for men would be perfected and widely accepted but, most importantly, a real cure would be already out. The motivation to push the development of such biotechnologies is really weak even today.
