People I have been emailing Dr NIgam this week regarding a procedure, he advises i go for pure HM first and if i get the desired results thats all I will need, however that does invilve goiung to mumbai three times from the uk which itself is not going to be cheap, Dr nigam has said if i dont get the desired reslults the money paid will be transferred to gis donor doubling technique again this is going to cost more for probably another three retuurn flights to Mumbai,

Im confident dr Nigam can give me a head of hair i need im nw4/5 thiining into 6/

Im basically after abit of encouragement to tell me im doing the right thing, also Do we know how safe wgat DR Nigam injects into yor head for pure HM and what are the possiblke side effects or complications, i read somewhere they have they are potentially cancerous, Im 25 years old so i still think i have age on my side when it comes to healing ect and iv never realy had any side effects from medication

thoughts on all this please ppl

We can't tell you whether this is the right thing to do or not. But you must have a good understanding of the risks involved, make sure you've considered them, and then don't look back. It's a tough situation, similar to the one I'm in actually, so I'll be interested in knowing what you end up doing. (I don't believe cancer is really an issue, and it hasn't been noted anywhere).

Please keep us posted, and best of luck!

        KO1,

Are you in the UK aswell?

Im lucky in that the cost will not cause me to much of an issue with what I have saved up and what my job pays but i dont want all that moeny to go down the drain,

iv looked at the forums and i cannot seem to find any specified risks jst that its not proven to be safe, im not sure why i mentioned cancer over anything the 30 cigarretes i smoke a day are more likely to give me cancer, Im just wanting to find out what the risks are I dont want to sped the moeny on any adverse side effects i feel lucky that i dont have any from propecia and the old pecker still earns his keep.

despite being 25 I will still want the appproval of my parents over anything they have been very understanding about how hair loss has bothered me mentally.

No, im in US, but the same age as you and heading the same pattern. I'm planning on taking action on this, surgical or otherwise in the next 2 years hopefully. I'm thinking about Nigam's procedure as well.

They're running similar procedures in clinical trials as we speak for Aderans, and no adverse effects have been reported, Nigam may do something different, but you can get an overall idea.

Depends how bad you have it, if you're not a good candidate for an HT, it may be worth trying, but if you are, maybe you should get FUE. But ultimately it's what you're comfortable with.

Dr Bisanga has advised me against a standard HT saying strip would be my only option and i may not have enough donor if i were to go to NW7. I was gutted butu massivley apreciate his honesty so as a very last resort i can jst shaved it all.

I want this fixed ASAP and Nigam seems like my best option i just need abit more convincing but as you say no one here can realy say either way with 100% conviction if its right or not

Bisanga, while good, prefers FUT for larger sessions, so I would also look at other FUE docs like Erdogan and Doganay. But if you're overall not a good candidate for an HT, then this may be worth exploring. That being said, you should save up money. The trips to India may be more expensive than the procedure actually.

Dr. Nigam, is this true you're going to open joint ventures soon in London, Dubai and Singapore?

If so, how soon will it be?

And will they offer Hair Multiplication too?

I'm not a doctor, but I read studies that break down common reasons why phase 2 and phase 3 trials fails, and in particular why autologous cell therapies fail, and at least so far, autologous cell therapies have broken the standard mold where about 50% of failures are due to efficacy and 50% are due to safety. With autologous cell therapies the ratio has been 33% safety failures versus 66% efficacy failures across the board, and the reasons are two-fold. (a) it's been extra hard to get them to work as advertised and to get the effects to show up under measurement in a human trial, and (b) they have generally been much safer and less prone to side effects than previous drugs.

At first I wondered if he was even a doctor or if he just got started doing HT. I feel better about that now, but I still would be worried about getting some kind of permanent scar or even an infection, and I admit that this is as much as anything from my own ignorance because I've never had a HT and because I'm judging things from across the internet instead of talking face to face in his office, but thats just how it is.

The cancer risk is real too. There is a standard percent of failures across the board for cancer in all trials, but it doesn't seem like anyone will know the answer to that in the short term.

I would say my main concern with safety at this point isn't any of the things I was originally thinking about. It's the idea that there are so many new things in the pipeline and how do we know which ones will play well together?

There was a link to a story about a bone forming in a patients eye because of a cell therapy injection a while back. It's probably overboard, but you should still read that story, but anways... 3D cell cultures, growth factor injections, etc, etc... I'm just not sure how Dr. Nigam knows all these things will play well together, and can I get an HM shot from Aderans later if I get one from Dr. Nigam now or is that a safety concern?

                  Dr. Nigam,

What makes you think the 3D cell culturing procedure is safe and excuse me if I don't understand enough the difference in what your doing now and the previous HM?

Can I ask some of you photoshop experts a question?

If Tom has doubling and injections in the same area do you think you can definitely say which hairs came from HM once you initially map the doubled hairs in the recipient area?

I guess I'm asking can you prove HM within a reasonable doubt with high res photos alone?

                      Huh, my post got deleted.

In any case, why do you feel there is a risk of cancer? Sure, pathways like Wnt have been implicated in cancers, and here there could be the risk of a pilomatrixoma with continuous activation of b-catenin, but these growth factors will not be activated continuously in vivo, nor are the cells going to be proliferating without limitation, so I can't spot why there would be a risk of cancer.

Yeah I'm good man. Had two accountancy exams last week which were tough but all done studying for a few months now. Good luck in your marketing exams.

Don't worry about IM, he just likes to shout the loudest. Oh, and I've seen pictures of him - he definitely is balding.
