Apparently, they are (were?) still actively engaged in clinical trials, either in the US or Canada. Unfortunately, they had contracted out the work to a company that was engaged in some fraudulent activities and has gone belly up.


I don't know what this means in terms of Follica's future, but, "if" they have a treatment they want to bring forward this most certainly will be pushing the timeline back. Hopefully they can survive the financial damage. Sounds like they, and a bunch of other companies, are owed quite a bit of money that they won't get.

On the bright side of things, at least they are active. But, just once....one time...I'd like it to be good news.

Its definitely going to set them back in terms of timelines and money but hopefully it doesn't sink the company. It seems like it is a huge blow though because so many other companies had so much outsourced so much cash to that company.

just sucks because a few years ago follica was the new savior and then histogen was the real one we were waiting for followed by replicel and now hardly anyone on these forums has much faith that any of them will give us any real type of game changing treatment.

Is something like this "new" in the field of hair research concerning "clinical trail results"?
I mean, simply using "any" data and even "any" photos to deliver "desired results"?

Of course this is nothing new in the field of hair research; or any research or business endeavor for that matter. If money or fame is involved, there is always a high probability of fraud. Most people are greedy, and when given the opportunity, will take the short cut to the gold, unencumbered by ethics or any sense of humanity what so ever.

Well, what we don't know is:

When did this occur for follica? Was it recent, or years ago? I know they conducted a trial in europe - this one was in canada or the US, but don't know if this was before or after that one.

Also, we don't know how much money was involved. Coulda been a small trial. Hopefully it was not a large phase II or something like that. If it was small then it shouldn't be too much trouble for them. If it was large, that could be hard to recover from since they're a company with absolutely not revenue sources.

It just unbelievably annoying that Follica says nothing what-so-ever.

They (PRACS Institute) filed the document around 2 weeks ago. So I think that Follica (listed on page 22) wasn't or still isn't aware at all about what happened with PRACS.
