Baldness cure still ten years away:(

Everytime I read these articles about a 'baldness cure'-breakthrough I have to think about this article I encountered on a forum during one of my 'google searches' about a finding of Dr. George Cotsarelis and his team. More than half of the people on that hairloss forum (which greatly reminded me of this forum and the euphoria during the early replicel reports when I joined this forum 2 years ago) were going like "alright 2 years... 5 years at max ... in 10 baldness it will definitely be eliminated!"
... unfortunately the article and the forum post were from 2004.
9 years later, it's still zippo.
Than I have to think about this article I read from 2011:
The "growth factor", sh-VEGF, that Nanogen claims to have discovered, and which can supposedly "reawaken dormant hair follicles", is also significant, according to Farjo. "A growth factor sets off protein in the body that triggers various processes... they flow in the body naturally. But a growth factor can also retard growth as well as promote it. The research is all about trying to figure out how to introduce more of the positive growth factors."
Farjo emphasises that "curing" baldness – which, after all, is completely natural and therefore doesn't require a cure – is still a long way off. "We definitely have a lot more information now than five or 10 years ago – but curing baldness could, in the long run, be as difficult as curing cancer."With radical transplant techniques and revolutionary formulae for regrowth, men – and the women who love them – may be looking forward to a luxuriantly hirsute future. Tim Lott investigates
Let's be honest, everytime we read these articles about 10 years, it basically means they have no concrete trail to follow, but they just think there is 'something'. When I was a kid and people were talking about 10 years, they were using it in the context of flying cars, robots and space colonization. 10 years is a long time.
I do believe that one day there will be a cure. But by that time I'll be long old, bald and grey and perhaps wont be beating myself up about a future partner, but when my grandkids are coming by.^^Comment

Yeah i would be more then happy just to keep the hair I have my head right now even if I cant regrow or get back every single hair I used to have.
Preventing MPB would be a cure to me. Someday we will go from NW 7 back to NW 0 with hair multiplication or some variant of that, but its always going to be a pain to do, expensive, and just like a hair transplant today. Its much much better to keep your hair then lose it all and try to get it all backComment

Cure, treatment, something to stop further loss.... Whatever, it's all the same. And so far, we have none of those, well, except for something that barely works for most people (Fin and Minox).Comment

Unfortunately the currently generation of hair loss sufferers getting 'cured' isn't the same thing as 'a cure' for hair loss.Comment

I think CB 03 01 could prevent MPB if it turns out to be strong enough with a good enough vehicle then it could work topically with little sides. I think androgens are still one of the best bets for preventing MPB.
Regrowing lots of hair is a whole different ball game. Luckily I am in a position to be happy just keeping my hair.Comment
