"Avodart" cheap over the counter in Spain!

    Guys,

Im in Spain at the moment and i was in the Pharmacy obtaining eye drops for my little one and whilst waiting near the counter I overheard a Spanish guy ask for " Avidart "

My ears pricked up as i knew the word was familiar and even my Spanish could work that out! - Well low and behold he was given branded Avodart over the counter. 30 tablets / 0.5mg for 30 euros!!!!

I asked if a prescription was required for Avodart in Spain and the lady behind the counter informed me - no.

You can buy it over the counter in Spain easy as buying toothpaste! I was blown away given how difficult it is let alone expensive it is in the UK.

Just thought I would share this info! Pretty cool for Dutasteride takers.. if you are visiting Spain!

Spec, how does one legitimately get Avodart for hairloss in the UK?

Have others tried to do this. I'm heading to Ibiza at the end of the month. Wondering if I can pick some up then.

How could a medication that is supposedly so dangerous be available over the counter? Or do the Spanish not experience the sides that we do here in the US?

You can get diazepam and codeine over the counter too in spain. Also, street drugs are decriminalised I think...

I really wish it was like that here, we live in such a nanny state. Pretty soon, they'll be telling us what we can eat and drink.

Perhaps the Spanish trust that their citizens won’t take, what is essentially a harmless, non-addictive drug.

I don’t think the “sides” have anything to with it. There are plenty of over the counter drugs (such as painkillers) that are potentially far more dangerous if abused.

My dad is from Spain and he's visiting family there right now and called me a couple nights ago telling me he was able to buy Propecia over the counter.

This adds to my belief that Finasteride can't be that much of a dangerous drug.

Yes, this doesn't surprise me. I got generic finasteride over the counter there (patent expired there 3 years ago), 50 1 mg pills for only 28 euro. I had a discussion with the pharmacist about the safety considering my concerns about side effects with all the bad experiences I read about on the internet and he said I shouldn't be that worried because if it had been a dangerous drug, it wouldn't be available over the counter. He also informed me that there are many people who use finasteride there, which is why they make new pills every single day. I also got in-house minoxidil there for a very low price (11 euro for 125 ml).

Yeah, my "dangerous" comment was more sarcasm than anything. Spain has the right idea, it should be an over the counter and affordable drug here in the US too.

Just tested this out and it works! Was in ibiza for the closing parties and I remembered that Ibiza is in fact in Spain! I went to a pharmacy and picked up 6 boxes of branded "Avidart" for about Eur33 each.

Is that cheaper than with a prescription in the UK or about the same?

you can get it for cheap. There are group buys going on right now that offer 10 grams of dut for 120 bucks. That is enough to last 20,000 days at .5 mg dosing. Send me a pm

Sorry for the vintage bump here guys

My GF is Spanish so I spend quite a lot of time in Spain, although I'm the UK right now. Does anyone know if you can buy 1mg Propecia over the counter in Spain for a cheap price? (i.e. as opposed to 5mg Proscar which I'm not fond of having to chop up)

Yeah fin and dut really are pretty safe. The only knock I have against them is that 5 ar type 3 enzyme not being very well known or studied that fin was never thought to really inhibit but does.
