First time poster, Rogaine Question, also now on Propecia.

Hello all, my hair receded in the corners when I was 22 and recently I have been noticing it has been getting thinner on top. I started noticing the most thinning in the vertex area. I figured it was time and I am now on Propecia and Rogaine. My question with rogaine is (And I will have to double check with my doctor too) should I ONLY rub it on the vertex or should I do it all over my head like a shampoo?

I know there is a slim chance but I heard it can regrow the temple hair too with propecia?

About me, I believe I am a NW2 and I will post some pics. You can see my vertex thinning, if I style my hair (As seen in the last pic) you can't notice the temples recession too much but still bugs me. I will be damned if I lose my hair so starting now

Hello and welcome to the board!

Here is a useful link with info about Rogaine and how to apply it, and if you look around a bit you will find something on Propecia too

Bernstein Medical offers expert hair restoration in New York, providing advanced treatments for men and women experiencing hair loss and thinning concerns.

Don't expect any regrowth with Propecia, it will mainly maintain what you have.

Use the Rogaine where you're thinning and massage it into the scalp, and don't use it like it was a shampoo, it must reach the scalp in order to work.

It is obvious from the pictures you have provided that you need to be using
the medicine in your vertex. These pictures you have provided to not show
your mid-anterior very clearly - but if you have thinning in that area as well,
you need to apply the medicine there too. You can dry the medicine off
your fingers in your temples if you want to.

You can also take advantage of a good quality concealer such as Dermmatch
while you are treating your hair loss. It looks like you should be able to use
it very effectively until you've grown enough hair back to not need it.
