    Nizoral questions

Right..I am trying to buy some Nizoral shampoo......

I am a bit confused...I understand there is a 1% and a 2%, is there also just a standard Nizoral too?......

I have came across 'Nizoral Dandruff Shampoo' is this just a standard version?

    To be honest I have no idea what the 1 / 2 % means, 1 / 2% of what?

When I google 'Nizoral 1%' I do not get many options, not much comes up. I am after the 1% version. I am from UK. Can anyone help for a online source?

If you're just starting to use Nizoral, try the 1% first. If you take a read on Nizoral related topics here (or in other forums), you'll read about how 1% and 2% doesn't make that much difference but.... to each his own. Might be different to you. Personally, 1% is fine.

      Hello,

It refers to the percentage of the active ingredient that is in the shampoo. Regular Nizoral has 2% Ketoconazole in it. The 2% version is by prescription only here in the States. The 1% version has 1% Ketoconazole in it. The 1% version is called Nizoral A-D here in the States and it is available over the counter without a prescription.

E-bay and Amazon grossly over charge for Nizoral A-D. I have no idea why. Here in the States Nizoral A-D is available in most pharmacies for a lot less than it is on e-bay or Amazon.

On those days that you use Nizoral (either version), it is a good idea to also use a good quality moisturizing conditioner. I don’t know what is available in the U.K., but if Aveeno's "Nourish+ Moisturize" conditioner is available to you, give that a try. The bottle looks like this:

      Take care,

      Tracy

        Thanks.

        I got the 1%.

        Currently got these going:

        Per day:

Propecia 0.5mg tablet (1mg tablets cut in half)
        Minoxidil One application
        Toco-8 scoop

        Once a week.

        Nizoral

Almost a week into my programme will possibly increase the doses in a week or 2.

Not expecting much, it will be a miracle to me if I see any improvement after 6 or so months.
