Is it ok to use a DHT blocking shampoo AND Saw Palmetto pills?

Hello all. This is my first time posting, but I've been reading different threads here for a few months now. I am 30 years old and my hair loss is now very noticable... as in I've just about got the horseshoe going on!

So I've decided to do something about it, or at least try. Maybe at this point it's too late, maybe not.
To help block DHT, I am going to take Saw Palmetto. 160mg 2x/day. Should I also use a DHT blocking shampoo? I've read many of them are made with saw palmetto. So would that be good? bad? necessary?

If some of you more experienced users here have any advice, I'd really appreciate it. I just want to know if it's ok, or even a good idea, to use a shampoo while I'm taking saw palmetto pills. If so, any suggestions as to what shampoo to get?

Thanks so much. I'm waiting for a few more things to arrive in the mail, then I'll probably start a thread showing my progress, if any.

I used 320mg saw palmetto (160x2) for 7months. I think it made a slight difference. It thickened my hair a little, but thats all it did, so I gave up. I even tried increasing the dosage to 640mg, but I started getting a headache at that dose.

But thats just my personal experience, and it doesn't mean it won't work for you. There are some people who claim good results.

As for the shampoo, I have been using Revita for 2.5 yrs. Its a great shampoo, makes my hair soft and feel nice. I don't expect anything more from a shampoo.
