What can I use to replace it without messing with hormones?

    Hello all,

For medical reasons, I have to stop Avodart for at least 6 months.
Since it's the only thing I take for hair loss, is there anything you'd suggest to use it that doesn't mess with the blood system?

Anything,no matter how weak it can be on hair?

If you're stopping Avodart, it's understandable to look for something that doesn't affect hormones. The main thing to keep in mind is that most effective hair loss treatments do work through hormones in some way, so non-hormonal options are usually more about maintenance than strong regrowth.

You could consider topical options like minoxidil, since it works differently and doesn't target hormones directly. Some people also use things like ketoconazole shampoo or low-level laser therapy, which are more supportive rather than aggressive treatments.

Just keep expectations realistic for those 6 months, as they may help slow things down but probably won't fully replace what Avodart was doing. Once you're able to restart, it's usually easier to regain control if you've maintained things in the meantime.
