Avodart/Dut prescription

I'm SURE this has been discussed in previous threads but I couldn't track it down...for those out there taking Avodart/Dutasteride, how did you get a prescription? I asked my doctor and he said he didn't feel comfortable prescribing it for hair loss (not FDA approved). I don't really want to go through some sort of online pharmacy because I dont really trust them to deliver the true medicine. Any help?

For some background, I'm 29, have been on Proscar (1.5mg ish/day) for 8 years. Had great results but things have slowly started to slip away here the past couple of years. My other option is to up my dose, although I'm skeptical of how well that will work...

I've also been on propecia for about 4 years and its effects are starting to wane, i was thinking about going onto Dust but im not sure if this will help.
