PRP Journey Honest and open experience UK

    Hello all

Ive been posting for the last few years on the thread below, originally to document my end to end FUT journey, as we had so little real-life stories in the UK. You’ll see its a very open and honest.

The FUT was circa 6 years back now, but i have thinning of the crown and also thinning around my hairline, additionally as I’ve got older I’m actually conscious of the FUT scar.

So I’ve decided to look into PRP treatment - first session is booked in on 12 April in Grantham near Nottingham UK.

    Images are:

Image 1 Pre FUT circa 6 years back
Image 2, 3,4 taken today and are of my FUT scar, crown and hairline thinning.
Image 5 taken today after hair is styled (standard wax only, no thickeners/sprays/fibres etc).

As mentioned in my other thread, i also do the following:

    1, finasteride 1 mg Daily
    2, Kirklands Minoxidil twice daily

I’ll post updates straight after the first PRP treatment on the 12th April, and each stage throughout. I’m booked for a monthly session over the next 3-4 months.

Hello. Did you donate blood for hormone level diagnostics before going to the surgeon's consultation? As I heard, hormonal diagnostics and ultrasound are very important procedures before hair transplantation. It is important to understand why hair loss occurs.

      Hi there

Don’t forget my actual transplant was 6 years ago :-). See my other thread. But in answer to your question it’s standard MPB, with no underlying concerns.

This thread is to document start to finish the PRP journey, so I’ve had the pre consultation and no concerns have been raised re my suitability for PRP. Next stage is the actual process.

I think this is one of the main problems re Finn/Minoxidil/transplants/lasers/PRP etc. Not many people actually maintains a post with genuine updates... so we’re left to join the dots with guess work.

My first PRP - blood taken and then the plasma injected will be on the 12thApril - my intentions are to post images straight afterwards, so others can see what’s involved. I can then post updates after this and after the next course.

Hope that helps clarify the thread purpose :-)

Got it. Your thread didn't finish reading something yesterday. Distracted and that's why I asked this question. I need to be more careful. It's just that there are so many junk topics with spam that I was even confused.

Okay, lockdown relaxation permitting... I’m booked in for my first PRP on Monday.

I’ll keep you all posted, but does anyone have any questions, before Monday?

              First PRP session

Okay so I’ve had my first PRP session today.

Blood taking was painless and was taken whilst a numbing solution was applied to my head.
The nurse (Jamie) then put the blood in her machine and after the magic was done she used the micro needling machine on my scar and directly injected and did the micro needling on my thinning patches.

Looks pretty gruesome, but genuinely was not uncomfortable at all.

The images were all taken almost straight after the treatment, would you all be happy with a weekly photo update? My second session is booked in for 4 weeks time, I can request that the session Is filmed if that’s something you would find useful or interesting.

                Hi all

I’m a week after my prp (well week and a day ;-)

No pain afterwards and no after effects to speak of. Here are my images a week after treatment one.

Tried to show my hair when brushed to the side and then natural (aka at its worse)

                  Hi all

                  Latest update images are attached.

I’ve only had one session so far, not noticed new growth yet, but I have seen a huge improvement in the scar. It feels flatter and less obvious already.

I’ll be going for session 2 of my PRP next week.

Does anyone have questions? I can see this thread is getting lots of views... I’m happy to honestly answer any questions (as I did with my transplant thread)

                    2nd treatment update

                    Hi all

Apologies for the delay in posting... busy and all that.

I had my second PRP 3 weeks ago and asked the nurse to film it - she’s also added lots of useful information, but I don’t seem to be able to upload it, but I;l keep trying

Now for the update you are looking for, I’m 100% seeing new growth and have noticed the front area looking thicker.

                      Hello all.

sorry for the huge gap, sadly my father passed away.

As promised here are my results from PRP - image shows that I've 100% had growth. my hair feels thicker and fuller too! I no longer wear concealer on my crown either :-)

Plan is to have more sessions maybe twice a year to maintain.

the lady that did my PRP is based in Nottingham UK and her website is here

she can be found on the usual places Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ffaestheticsltd/
                      insta https://www.instagram.com/fflawless_aesthetics/?hl=en

I honestly cannot recommend this lady enough - she's worked wonders on my thinning crown.

Happy to answer any questions you may have, or you're more than welcome to go directly to the nurse via her pages :-)
