    Minoxidil without finasteride

    Hey guys

I was diagnosed with MPB at age 17 at norwood 2 with thick hair every where else.
I am having an M shaped hairline with hair receded only at the temples with crown and rest of the scalp having thick hair. Currently I am 20 and I still have thick hair everywhere, except for hair recession at the temples. I started my minoxidil therapy at age 19 and I haven't noticed my hair getting worse any further since then. I also started seeing fine hairs growing at the temples on the receded areas but they aren't thick at all to cover those areas, very fine and less dense, but it aleast shows that minoxidil has some effect on me.

Since the usage of minoxidil i haven't noticed my hair getting worse.

Now I am 20 and does minoxidil alone can help me maintain the hair I have since it is evident that it can really grow fine hair in the bald spot (Temples)??

BTW my father is not bald in his 55s and my maternal grandfather had thick hair even in his 40s, only by late 50s he had big forehead due to receded hairline but no really bald overall.

Guys pls do reply to this!!!! Pleasee

Hi Amit. I'm new here, but I'm 35 with plenty of experience and I have done surgery already. My thoughts on this is that your hairline is only maturing which is natural at your age. Minoxidil effectiveness on the temples is debatable and from my own experience, not worth it. Save the money and save your scalp, and blood health for now. Assume your mature hairline or save for a hair implant if you must.
