I have been losing my hair since I was about 19. I am now 26. It has not stopped nor let up since the beginning. Hair is constantly falling out all day long and way more than the daily shedding suggests. I have been using Rogaine Foam for almost 6 months and it still hasn't let up. I am still losing the same amount of hair. I'm not bald but my top is thin. I just want the hair to stop falling out constantly. I'm tired of seeing it EVERYWHERE! Does anyone have any advice or information?

JPWHIT2 is absolutely correct. You need a thorough exam to determine the cause of your loss.
You should see a dermatologist who specializes in hair loss. Shedding hair loss is not the same as hereditary hair loss. If you are shedding more than 50 - 100 hairs per day, there could be an underlying medical condition causing this problem. Once the problem is identified and addressed, the shedding should return to the normal range and the hair that shed prematurely should return in time.
It is important to also be aware that shedding loss and hereditary loss can occur simultaneously, even though they have completely different causes. You should not give up on your Rogaine treatment. It will help the shedding hair regrow and help you keep the hair possibly being affected be heredity. Think of it like toothpaste. You brush your teeth to prevent cavities, but you don't stop brushing because you get a cavity.....I am a representative for Paul J. McAndrews, M.D.
