Did Finasteride give you serious sideeffects? (POLL)

So, I have 90 tabs of 1 mg Finasteride, I REALLY want to start using them as I seriously don't enjoy my life currently as I am losing hair.

I still have good hair, so I can still save it. I'm 26 years old, no children and such. I want to start low dosage finasteride (0.25 mg every other day)...

But i'm really scared of the side effects...

I failed to create a poll......... =D Can a moderator edit my post and put a poll in maybe?

No sides with finasteride. Fact of the matter is very few people ever have sides. As always it's best to follow up with your prescribing doctor.

        Started Finasterid today!
Wish me luck. Doing 0.5 mg/day

        Here's my current hairsituation:
        http://bildr.no/view/L0NTQml3 - front
        http://bildr.no/view/elJ2cnlO - top
        http://bildr.no/view/WGNGVTcy - front, slightly above
        http://bildr.no/view/dnBhRGVV - side

My weakness: the crown, it's much thinner. Without this haircut I definetly look like I'm starting to get bald.
Also my hairline in the front is gotten much worse, especially the left side (on photos left). And overall just thinner hair..

In the same boat, picked up fin yesterday. Afraid to start it after all this reading here. Guys with impotence, 1 week or years in of using the stuff. I would like to start on 0.5mg but I'm having trouble seeing past the negative response by many. I wouldn't have issue with sides if they weren't permanent, many believe for most it's psychological and not hormonal.

0.25mg is 85% as responsive in terms of DHT reduction as 1mg and as far as I can tell very few appear to be getting sides from it. Try that first.

Read studies! I did that, then I decided to start. I was scared like hell because of reading everything. But as we all know - those who are happy and it works for, they don't write on these forums (well some do, but most are happy in silence). And all who are unhappy go spam here. It's like a great restaurant, if someone is unhappy - they usually tell it to EVERYBODY. And if you're really happy, you probably tell somebody if they ask about a good restaurant, but not otherwise.

Here you have some studies, as you see, in the long term it's almost as big % placebo as the guys who are actually on finasterid.

Very accurate. There are clinical studies that show much lower doses of finasteride are just as beneficial as the normally prescribed 1mg/day.

I've been taking 1.25 mgs either daily or every other day for two years with no clear side effects as far as I can tell. Sometimes I don't have as much semen when I ejaculate as others, but I'm not sure if that can be attributed to the drug - nor is it too big of a concern for me.

Personally I don't think .25% is going to do it. Stop hair loss that is.

Finasteride, one milligram, only cuts DHT conversion by seventy percent. That's it.

True, but then there's the issue if you cut to much dht you could deprive other things. Hence sides, but it was just a thought. I took 0.5mg, hoping for the best. It's day 1 for me, a few more days would tell right? Seems sensitive types get sides within the week.

0.25 cuts DHT by 60-63% compared to 1mg with 70%. Add a topical anti androgen like 2% keto as well as a shampoo with alpha 5 reductase blockers like saw palmetto, and finally a minoxidil and most are going to be more than ok. My doctor said that about 10% of people who he prescribed 1mg fin have had to jump off because of sides within a month. Lately he has suggested 0.25mg and has had no one come back with issues. You're better off taking the micro dose with 80% of the DHT results and going for a kitchen sink method on the side to make up for it.

I started on 1mg a year ago and lasted a single pill. I had sides for a week afterwards. Tried 0.25mg ED half a week ago and aside from mild ball ache I feel fine.

On the 0.25mg and Minox, had anyone actually seen regrowth? I see allot of individuals say they just keep shedding.

30% of people should get regrowth on minox alone.
