Is It Worth It To Start Taking Finasteride?

With all the recent advancements and the new treatments coming out in the next 5 years, would it still be worth it to risk side effects and take finasteride?

I have never taken it before and I've been monitoring my hairline for the past year and it looks like it has barely changed if at all. I am currently about a nw1.5 with good temple points but when viewed from above you can see it goes upwards at the sides. When viewed from the side I don't look receded.

    What should I do?

Taking propecia is no big deal, I don't get while there's so much hand wringing over it. Just take it.

Its minimally effective and the side effects are virtually nil. If you get sides, that you can't accept or handle, stop taking it. End of.

Well if you're only NW 1.5 and that doesn't bother you too much, you could wait a few years for a better treatment to come (if it will come, it's not 100% sure yet).

Check your hair every 3 - 6 months (make hi-res photos) to see if the hairloss is progressing - and if so, jump on propecia to save as much hair as possible.
