Have been cutting Proscar supply all at once? Was it a bad idea?

    Hi all,

I have been on finasteride, 1.25 mg, for 6 months now, started New Years Day. I cut all my pills on the day I get them from the pharmacy, as it's easier for me to just take the 1/4th pill in the morning before work as I am usually in a rush, however I have been reading that it is a bad idea to cut up all the pills at once since it can lose potency. Have I been doing it wrong this whole time? Did finasteride not do anything for these last few months? Should I throw out all the pills I have cut up now and get a new refill and just cut 1 pill every 4 days?

I have not seen any regrow for the last 6 months on my crown which is pretty bald, and I am losing my hairline every day. Have not started minox yet, but am taking Regenpure DR shampoo every 2-3 days.

Any advice would help as reading about cutting pills in advance has gotten me down. Thanks.

I believe I read that finasteride remains stable for along time even under harsh conditions. Cutting the pills shouldn't effect the efficiency. You can always just get a blood test to confirm. You should do that anyways to make sure youre getting adequate DHT suppression. Remever theres a 20% variation in DHT reduction for fin.
