I have a question for Swoop, need some knowledge.

I've been looking into ways to maximize the effect of minoxidil. Essentially what the consensus is that its all up to sulfotransferase activity correct? Well I've read from studies, and your posts, that hydrocortisone can upregulate this activity "several fold". I've also read that retinoic acid, tretinoin, not only increases permeability of minioxidil, but it also is can attenuate AR sensitivity by as much as 40%. These two compounds combined with minoxidil seemed like a perfect match. Then I found this http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8591987. I'm not sure if this has been discussed here but essentially tretinoin is found to attenuate HC's phenol suflotransferase stimulation by up to 50% with just 0.05 nM. Is there something i'm missing here? Does combining these medications just cancel eachother out, and if this is the case which one would you choose as the best candidate for enhancing minoxidil?

Are you saying that retin a can decrease androgen receptors by 40%? If so please provide link to study

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/12457868/. Here you go, AR protein mRNA reduce by about 50%. Pretty interesting stuff. It would help explain it's effectiveness for acne
