    finasteride dosing

Didn't get much response on reddit so I'm gonna try here as well.

I'm thinking about trying finasteride, hairline is receding, but very, very slowly and have been contemplating the dose required. While I know 1 mg is the optimal dose studies show that lower doses are also effective (just not to the same extent).

    consider this post here https://www.baldtruthtalk.com/thread...l=1#post132600

    coupled with this http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10495374

wouldn't a microdose of 0.1 or even 0.05 provide quite the benefit, even if 1 mg is the optimal dose? The point of all this is of course to try to reduce any eventual side effects. I'm still gonna start out with 1 mg but it would be interesting to know if a lower dose would be effective should I experience sides that doesn't go away with continued use.

I would most definitely start low. .25 would be optimal. A lot of guys start on the 1-1.25mg and experience negative effects. Ease into it so you don't shock your body. And yes, low doses are still nearly as effective as 1mg. Good luck mannnn

there isn't much of a difference between 0.25 and 1mg though, 0.25 inhibts dht by about 62 % while 1 mg is around 68.9 %, I'm talking specifically about doses as low as 0.05 which would be around 50 % if I read the above graphs correctly.

It is curious, how are you going to divide the tablet in doses like 0.1 or 0.05 mg.

that's the real problem isn't it, I'm gonna try to grind the pill up then divide into small piles (impractical and most likely not feasible), the other way is to dissolve it in alcohol and then dose accordingly
