    A different type of transplant

Came across this video today and found it amusing, in a perverted way:

Could be sensationalized or anecdotal, but appears beard transplants are on the rise, looks like similar donor areas as the more traditional hair transplants.

I imagine at least some of us don't have to worry about this type of transplant at least!

Just thought it was interesting and could stoke some interesting conversation on cultural and social shifts and implications by this.

Wouldn't the transplanted hair look different from the real beard hair? You know, the texture and maybe color? Also, don't they have to cut you scalp to transplant the hair?

In my opinion, it's not worth it if you'll end up with a scar on the back of your scalp. Maybe it's more viable for people who don't suffer from MPB and stay NW0-NW1 for the rest of their lives, since they won't probably need a transplant for their scalp. On the other hand, would people with MBP rather get a transplant to their beard rather than their heads?

Yeah, I thought the same thing. Seems like the texture would be way different. And like, what happens when those follicles eventually fill in? Not sure how regular transplants work but seems like it could complicate things down the road.

Anyway, just thought it was interesting surgery.

For beard transplants, normally they take donor hair from the beard area, for example the beard hairs under the jaw (on the neck).
