Hello, TC. I've been alternating oral spironolactone (100-300 mg) and cyproterone acetate (50-200 mg) for just over a year now; I'll answer the questions in the relevant section of your OP as best I can.
If yes, how did it go for your hair?
Wonderfully. I went from a NW 3.5 with thinning in a NW 5A pattern to a very decent NW 2 in an exceedingly short period of time.
How were the sides?
On spironolactone, the sides were very mild... slight loss of sex drive and and decreased facial oiliness, in addition to the obvious diuretic side effect. The androgen-related sides were essentially unnoticeable up to 300 mg, although from what I gather, I am an aberration in that regard. The cyproterone acetate was different; at the highest doses, it all but killed my sex drive, and would often leave me in a state of lethargy. I would intermittently get random aches throughout my body. Facial oiliness and scalp itch were completely nonexistent. My body hair thinned out on both spironolactone and cyproterone acetate, although I would consider that a positive. Facial hair growth seemed to be inhibited. Oh, and spironolactone gave me VERY vivid dreams; as strange as that sounds, a few other guys on spiro reported the same thing over at another hairloss forum. No facial feminisation or (perceptible) muscle loss whatsoever.
Another thing that concerns me, it seems like this drug has not been studied much for andro alopecia in men. I would be more scared of it not working than the sides tbh
It was very, very efficacious for me, especially in light of the fact that my hair had previously actually marginally worsened after a year on finasteride.Leave a comment:

Yes they are legit . U must attack hairloss from all angles . Dut , Minox and niz. Ru is the best experimental . Is it better then fin? Nope . It's good for targeting g areas and it works for lots and lots of people . In my honest option we gotta work on better vehicles . Ethanol sucks and pg f'n sucks
Also do you still use fin+dut at the same time?Leave a comment:

It does seem like I am shedding a good amount. Some days not so much, other days definitely. I know nothing about Anagen....are they supposed to be legitimate?Leave a comment:

Are you shedding much these days? Many RU users can tell really quickly if it is working, I think in your case it is worth the gamble to order one premade mix and give it a shot. If it doesn't work then at least you can say you've tried.
RU personally did nothing for me as did fin, dut is my last shot at an AA. I THINK part of the reason RU didn't do much for me is because my DHT levels are still out of control. Id prob give it another try once dut lowers them.Leave a comment:

hmm tru man
u can order RU premade from anagen though which helps with convenience, and i have definitely seen people with long hair using it. You just part the hair in 6 different places and apply through out
you seem commited to trying spiro tho so good luck hopefully no sides
I did consider premixed RU but from what I have read it is quite a bit less effective than mixing fresh batches. Any opinion on this?Leave a comment:

Also spiro should do the same job w/ a high enough dose I am thinking. RU blocks androgen receptors right? So not just DHT but androgens in general are "disabled"....my understanding is that spiro reduces the androgens in your body. Obviously this is more risky (sides) but if I can tolerate it, it should be much more convenient + spiro is MUCH cheaper
I did try minox once but had a bad reaction, skin felt horribly irritated, however it might have been a chemical in the solution besides minox. Sometimes I consider trying the foam but all the stories of skin aging worry me, that side effect would be 100% unacceptableLeave a comment:

and tbh its a shame u never gave minox a shot years ago casue u may not be in this place i u were a decent responder to it
at this point it could be risky as far as having to go through a period of time where ur hair could get real bad but bounce backLeave a comment:

bro really consider RU for 6months i dont see how more oral inhibiton is gonna do much when your already on dut
dut + ru = ultimate anti-androgen therapyLeave a comment:

How did you get the spiro? I am curious to see how this goes. Keep us up to date on the results.Leave a comment:

Ok I currently have a bunch of spiro in my possession. Have not taken any yet.....cold feet I guess. But I think I need to try. This is Saturday night & I do not feel like going out at all, too depressed.
I am very concerned about feminization but the need to maintain hair is extreme. I guess if the sides are unbearable I can just quitLeave a comment:
