Biothera is a scam
BEWARE - DO NOT BE FOOLED by BIOTHERA CLINIC in Vancouver, BC. It is too late for me now, but not for YOU. I had the same experience as J from Edmonton. But whoever you are thinking of signing up for BIOTHERA - BEWARE it is nothing but 100% a SCAM. NO HAIR will grow because of this laser treatment, it is just your normal hair growth. SAVE YOUR MONEY for better things.
They guarantee hair growth in 6 months to one year. BEWARE - this is a SCAM, HOAX, FALSE HOPE. This clinic is run by very slick, smooth-talking bunch of impostors. SAVE YOUR MONEY and be happy with what you've got. Whoever you are I hope you read this. I wish someone posted a WARNING but some are just embarassed by admitting they've been HAD. It is a TOTAL RIP-OFF. You don't know how lucky you are to have read this. I hope you have not started the treatment, which is a LOAD OF CRAP. Whoever supports BIOTHERA is an accessory to this big CON GAME. DO NOT BE DECEIVED by their expensive ADVERTISING or you will end up like me. HAIRLESS & MONEYLESS.
It is unfortunate that consumers are not protected but I am glad we have this blog of HONEST,CONCERNED citizens. Once again, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY BIOTHERA. BIOTHERA = TRICK = SCAM = CHEAT = LIARS = RIP-OFF = NO CONSCIENCE = CON ARTISTS. I cannot wait for the day that they close down their business.

Biothera Ripping You Off
I filed a complaint with Service Alberta and had a discussion with an agent & of course Biothera, yet again has the upper hand on those people that get ripped off. It basically boils down to biothera's word against yours. Because I had no witness during the consultation (where they tell you that your an ideal candidate & convince you that you will have success & because of their "guarentee" you have nothing to lose)there is little Service Alberta will do. They need some hard evidence.
The one way they would investigate is if they start getting more complaints against Biothera. So Again, I encourage anyone & everyone who was ripped off by Biothera to complain to the...
Better Business Bureau
and
Service Alberta
http://www.serviceal...v.ab.ca/562.cfm
If you are okay with being taken advantage of, then do nothing. If your pissed about being lied to & taken for a ride, then take a few minutes to tell your story & get back at biothera. If everyone complained about how Biothera tries to convince you to sign up & then fails to deliver, then maybe something will happen.Leave a comment:

Biothera is a Scam!
Surprise, surprise. I contacted the Edmonton Better Business Bureau regarding Biothera's questionable business practices & how they "honour" their guarentee. I have been notified, that after several attempts, Biothera has refused to respond to their inquiry. Yet again this shows that Biothera KNOWS they are SCREWING clients & would rather ignore complaints than defend themselves to the BBB.
I think this should be a warning sign for any of you who have expressed intrest in Biothera. And for those who have extended their sessions for another 6 months & hoping for results, you will be in the same spot you are now, just delayed. I urge you to file complaints against Biothera, as this is a way to reflect to potential clients that Biothera is a scam.
I am planning to contact Alberta Service, the government version of the BBB & see if they have any effect on Biothera. Probably not becasue Biothera obviously feels they can act without reprisal.Leave a comment:

home laser
Greetings,
Just my two cents:
-Biothera is hugely expensive
-Lasers are fda approved for safety only; not effectiveness
-My family physician has his own hair laser clinic and showed me the great results (intouched photos) of his patients.
It's anybodies guess if laser treatment will really work or not. My solution was purchasing a home laser hood for $800. By do this, it's not an incredible amount of money to spend, and the only other factor at risk if it doesn't work is time spent under a hood of lasers.
The company that I got if from is called Lasermax. It is a full hood of lasers. These lasers use the same frequency laser as regular hair clinics. I went for the largest model. It comes with a stand. Just set it up and sit under the hood while watching TV. I have been at it for almost 4 months. They say that it takes at least 4-6 months before seeing a result. I'll keep you posted on progress.

hey you guys. Just wanted to give my 2 cents.
In Edmonton we had another laser clinic called "international laser clinic".
It seem legit; with a BBB sticker, a licence. It even went to health and beauty shows promoting it self.
Then in i think mid 2008, they just packed up and left! This was on Trouble shooters on Globle TV. The office they had was just empty, and no one could contact the owners.
So what im saying is becareful! I'be been to both 'internation laser clininc' and 'biothea' consultation. And Im glad I didnt shell out any money.
And have you checked out biotheras site? They claim to do everything 'hairloss, weight loss, quit smoking, thermal wrap."
If you wanna do try laser, at least try a DIY 1st. couple hundred cheaper!
Oh, lastthing, the 'result guarentee' isnt really a 100% thing. ANY results is a good result! They'll claim you're getting growth even if your not!
Good luck guys. We're all in this together.Leave a comment:

It’s so sad that these companies still get away with this crap! The only reason the guarantee is offered is to give customers as sense that they have nothing to lose. These places do not give refunds! It's a scam!Leave a comment:

I did everything that was expected as per their "contract". They showed me close up with the scope & whenever I said I don't really see much improvement they would point out some fine hairs & say, "see there is some new growth". Ultimately they rejected my appeal for a reimbursment saying that I had increased hair density, yet when I mentioned @ the end of my sessions that I wasn't happy they offered me 6 more months, I assume free. But if I had improvement like they said and they rejected my wanting my money back because of this, why would they offer me 6 more months?
Did I mention that they offered me the 6 more months after I said I wasn't happy with the results?
Oh yeah & they also said because I didn't use 1 month of "rejuvination" product I voided the gaurantee! Whether it works or not, they company has questionable practices, they have set themselves up to always win, they can use their "contract" to justify success when there is none.
They tell you during the consultation that you are a great candidate, yet in the end they screw you over with the contract when you get no results. They don't even offer you a portion back. It's all or nothing & in Biothera's case you get nothing.Leave a comment:

Haha sorry if i was promoting it a little to much, was having a few drinks. All i was trying to say was that for my brother and I it has worked. I wish I could get more response as laser is by no means a miracle cure. But in my opinion it is the best program I have every tried and probably the best out there for response that is non surgical. In the past I tried propecia ( didnt do much over 6 months, maybe slowed it down was hard to tell) Rogain 9-12 months (saw a few peach fuzz hairs come up, but seemed to put a hold on the loss) and a 6 month treatment at a clinic that used topical/shampoo/and a galvanic current (electricity to get the blood flow back the the scalp, wasnt that fun, saw again only a few peach fuzz hairs come up, was better than the Rogain thou).
As per the talk on different angles for photos, of course if you use a different camera have different lighting different angles it will show different response. But for me when i do a photo comparison they show me digital photos and one done with a scope that zooms in maybe 50-100 times to see the growth that way. Do they do that in Edmonton cpl_hicks? And did you attend the clinic as they told you?
Also all lasers are just approved from the fda for safety, the only one that was cleared by the fda was the old hair max, they did a study with 300 people that used it for 6 months 2-3 times a week and average response was a 46% increase. So if you had 10 hairs in an area you would know have 14-15. Not a huge increase but better than nothing. I am happy with my program as i have more now then when i started, i know it wont fill in all the way but its better than doing nothing and let it completely fall out.
Of course i'm going to say good things about laser if I got results. But i have also said bad things about it as well. Its slow, time consuming and I wont get full coverage. You have to be committed to do it.
Im not saying everyone should use a laser, research everything out there and make your own call.
Dont let me or laserhead ( who is on a mission to make lasers seem like they do jack) influence you to much, make your own call, go to different places see whats out there.Leave a comment:

There are no FDA approved lasers, lasers are FDA cleared and non of the laser hair dryers are FDA cleared so they are lying!. I was scammed too . JasonWildon’s post looks shillish to me anyway.
Did any of you see this? http://www.thebaldtruth.com/uncatego...wth-institute/
I hope the government goes after all of these clinics!
Yeah, if you look at a lot of Jason Wildons posts... they all seem to advocate Laser therapy.. and in any thread relating to some other treatment it almost seems as if he's putting that treatment down..
I don't know what to make of it. Maybe he's legit, who knows.Leave a comment:

Biothera laser light claims
Also keep in mind, when companies say that the laser comb is FDA approved...read exactly what the FDA approved...I believe they have approved it is "safe" to use. They have not given it a rubber stamp of apporval that it WILL grow hair!
Just that it is safe to use...big difference & one these companies neglect to mention. It is NOT FDA approved to grow hair.Leave a comment:

Biothera false results
I would tend to disagree with the previous post, that seems to say that Biothera Clinics are "honourable". The problem I have with them is that they show you photos after the treatment & say, yup we think there is significant hair density improvement, and they use photos from different angles to prove their point. If you take 2 pictures from different angles on the same day you could make it look like you have more hair.
I definately recall the "consultant" saying that the contract is a "formality", you will see positive results and we base it on "cosmetic" aspects, on how the client feels/see when they look in the mirror. I also have before pictures & trust me if there was even the slightest hint of significant growth I wouldn't complain. But to have them say, we think there is increased density & our refund is based on a all or nothing mentality and oh yeah that conversation we had at the start about improvement, well too bad WE say there is.
Bottom line, I'll bet there are more of us that got screwed than those who see positive results. I'll bet that if there was a site where people just voted on if they were happy or not, over whelmingly there would be more dissatisfied people.Leave a comment:

My younger brother and my self have attended Biothera Clinics in Vancouver for about 7 months now. Yes its true some clients have a guarantee, when the lady took a look at my head she said I was not a good candidate and would not be able to give me a guarantee. My brother on the other hand who is 8 years younger was a good candidate so he did get a guarantee. From what his guarantee states is that it is conditional, where you have to attend at least 48 times in the 1 year program. That makes sense, you have to use the laser to get results. Both of us did sign up to the program. At the 3 month photos my brother was starting to see quick response where his crown was starting to fill in along with his front hairline coming down, unfortunately for me i had not seen any difference yet. They did show me with a scope that there were some new hairs ( looked like a peach fuzz) starting to grow in the fringes of my crown and where it was completely gone before i started, and my existing hair on the top of my head getting a lot thicker giving me more coverage. Since then I have seen a lot of new growth all over my scalp( except the center of my crown where there hasn't been a hair there in 5 years) I know I am never going to get full coverage but I am overall satisfied so far with how the program has been. My brothers results have been much better his crown was filled in by the 6 months and is now just waiting for the front temples to come back, and our family notices it gradually coming back. I know the exact lasers they use at the clinic are the revage 670 if that helps anyone. I think when I am done the program I will go to Hassan And Wong to get some transplants to fill in the center of my crown where the laser will not fill in as to get results its my understanding that you need to have some hair left for it to help. So if your completely bald i would stay clear of any laser treatment and go straight for transplants.Leave a comment:
