Opinions on the best generic dutasteride?

Hi, I usually get my dutasteride from united pharmacies, they've been very reliable over the years. But they currently have a few different generics - Dutagen, Duprost and Dutas.

They're pretty similar priced, so I was just wondering if any of you had experiences with them? I've been buying Duprost for the past year, and haven't had any sides at all from 0.5mg a day. But I've also not noticed a lot of difference with my hair.

So, if another brand is generally recommended as more effective, I'd switch and give it a try. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

    Okay here's my take...

I use Dutagen @ 0.5mg a day from inhouse, been having great results in such a short period of time, only 2 months. Literally see difference in hair thickness in just weeks apart. One week I think my hair looks really good and i'm making great, quick progress..two weeks later it looks even better and I see the before pic and ask myself how did I think that looked good. However, if I don't take pictures, I see it cosmetically the same, you just can not see the progress in the mirror I guess. But the progress is definitely there, and it has made me happy. I use less and less Toppik now.

BUT I also use Rogaine twice a day, which is a big part of the success too. I also use fin 1.25mg a day, but have been on it for like 3 years and Rogaine+fin never gave me the results i'm getting now, so I have to attribute it mostly to Dut while not ignoring that Rogaine is giving my hair a hand too, but dut is giving it two hands.

To give you a more solid answer, generic dut I feel is all the same, even brand. If you want better results up the dose to 2-3 dut pills a day and use Rogaine twice a day if you don't already. Hope this helps, good luck.

PatientlyWaiting I don;t understand why you would need to take fin and duta, aren't they basicaly the same thing, they are both anti-androgens and 5-a reductase inhibitor?

Arnt you also risking some pretty bad side effects by taking two anti androgen drugs at once, I always thought it was one or the other.

I'm scared to drop it and lose hair. I have never had any side effects on fin, and thankfully, none on both either.

What I think is that I have too much DHT, and even with dut and fin lowering my DHT, it just lowers it to a normal enough level that it doesn't even affect my libido. My MPB did start at a young age, like about 14 was the first signs, then at 16 it got really aggressive and noticeable. I'm no hair loss specialist, but I must have had a hell of a lot DHT for my MPB to start that early.

What ever the case is, I do not have side effects to report.

I think he takes it for the same reason that I do; just to be safe. Fin should be useless in the presence of duta anyway, so it isn't any different than taking just duta.

Anyway OP, I use Dutas and got my blood tested to confirm that it is working.
