after a year off fin I think you still can improve your hair but it's not gonna be related to the dht blocker itself . You should start experiencing new stuff that may or may not help you aside the fin. As for me it's all about my daylife activty and my hormones. I wrote a blogg about my experience : www.2013hairlossrehab.blogspot.com

I know that you guys just swear by FDA aprouved studies, but I just ran my 'proper study' over the years and little by little found my way to improve my hair growth.

I look foward to try new breakthrough products, but have few hope about the time being since it has to run trials over years.

I would like to see these before and after photos too. You say finasteride did not stop your male pattern baldness at all ?

Tough break. But there is some good news.

Works great for just about everyone else

Can you provide reasonably good quality pics?

I hope it will fix it too; I had some stages of an awful amount of shedding. Hope it all goes well for you.

No reassurance here Kirby, but I thought I'd throw my story and some opinions in the mix.

Im kind of in the same boat. I started finasteride April 17. Minox June 6. Big shed over the summer. Light to normal shedding until January. Heaviest shed, with some okay days, since then. Hoping it subsides soon.

Considering all the shedding, my density seems almost the same (lost a little I think)... not really sure, iPhone 4 pics aren't the greatest quality. At 11 months tomorrow and hoping for some thickening at a year or later once this shed subsides.

    NW6 diffuse. NW2 hairline.

I really think the first 12-18 months are a roller coaster of shedding for some people. Multiple, cyclical sheds, with follicles becoming more independent over time. You have to consider how DHT affected your follicles are. I caught it relatively early in that I still have a lot of follicles, but they are almost globally affected by DHT. Shedding hopefully will fix this.

What, are you saying I won't get ANY regrowth at all? I'll need some to not have a visibly balding appearance. (A dermatologist I saw privately said I had some telogen effluvium but I don't believe him as forum opinion was otherwise.)

I would also like to know this. I'm in a similar situation - 14 months on fin without any noticeable change. I started minox 2 months ago.

    Can anyone answer kirby's question?

Basically: I'm at 14 months on fin, hair is just as thin as day one, if not thinner. Worst area is my crown region, in terms of lasting/pre-existing damage.

Is it still theoretically possible to get any form of regrowth or other improvement at this stage or later? I'm not using anything else but Niz.
Working...
