I'm 19 hairline began to receed at 17, didn't get too far after starting minoxidil 12.5 cream for my hairline, and about 8 months ago, propecia. I've had a bit of regrowth at the hair line, however I feel my sides and more importantly the back have thinned slightly. With this in mind I went to see two trichologists, one from Belgravia one independent. Both said they could see no miniturization and that it wasn't dupa, but stress or telogen effluvium. Apologies if that's spelt wrong. The top of my head also appears to be still very thick and if that has thinned too its not noticeable. I don't have much hair physically falling out anymore which is good, but around my ears, the bottom of my neck and the sides sort of where it comes forward towards my eyes is a little thinner.
1. Should I take they're word for it that there is no miniturization? Even though they just checked with there eyes and a comb? 2. If it did turn out to be dupa, would near future treatments such as aderans and histogen be effective? Was hoping taking the risk of propecia quite young would pay off, in that 4 or 5 years down the line new treatments would mean fin woukd be obselete, could this still be the case even if it was dupa? Many thanks, hope you can make me feel more positive.
