Gray hair transplant is complicated because the extraction can be hindered by the fact that hairs are gray hair. The hairs on the back of the scalp can become almost invisible once an LED light is shined upon so Dr. Sean colors the back of the scalp in a certain way such that the hairs are darker than the background skin. This way the extractions can be done easily, well, and a very high-graft survivability. This also results to minimal transection. Notice the nice density, also notice the high number of grafts with 3 hairs. Dr. Sean used a 0.85 mm punch to extract the grafts.
The last two photos are a picture of the back of the scalp shaved 1 year after the procedure, and you can barely notice any scar at the donor area. This demonstrates the accuracy of extraction with a very small punch while maintaining good quality grafts with high numbers of 3s with very minimal transection and high-graft survivabilty despite the fact that this is gray hair.
