No sweat buddy! Although I understand your concern for the scar, I wouldn't completely rule out FUT if you require a fairly large number of grafts.....and if you go to a clinic like H&W, their scar work is so good, you'd eventually not be able to see much, even at shorter cuts. If you're still dead set on FUE only, there are some of the best FUE surgeons in the industry who are just a really short flight from where you live......

Anyhow, I don't want to hijack Carl's thread here, but I do hope you keep us posted Artista.

Ha ha, take it away guys! Artista, I did consider FUE, but the graft estimates I was getting were consistently in the 3-4000 range and thats not a number that sits well with FUE. I know the likes of Feller wont go near that amount and, time wise, going for multiple sessions abroad just wasn't an option. For me, getting it done in one (LOOOOOONG) session of FUT in great hands was the best option. Really appreciate the positive feedback by the way, look forward to hearing what you decide!

I'm not sure to be honest. I'm 99% certain they provide financing, probably only for US/Canadian clients. I went the "all in" lump sum route. I've just checked their website quickly and can't find the finance section, but it's worth dropping them a line or getting in touch with Joe because, as I said, I'm nearly positive they provide options.

Edit: Just found this, it appears that they don't offer direct financing, but rather through these companies.

            Any use to you?

One of the best results I've seen, amazing transformation.

Your hair looks like a normal mature hairline now, no one would even look at you and think 'that guy is thinning on top'.

              Congratulations man.

                **6 Month Update**

Firstly, apologies for the delay in posting these pictures. I've been absolutely rushed off my feet the last few weeks. Secondly, apologies for the dodgy quality. Decent natural light is hard to come by in late January Dublin...as are haircuts it seems!
Big improvement in the appearance of my scar this month. I hadn't been examining it on any kind of regular basis, but my wife had to actually LOOK for it to take these pictures. There's still a spot right at the centre that's quite red, but in general it's fading nicely. As for the rest, there's been some good thickening throughout and I'm feeling, rather than seeing the difference at the moment. The hair just has a more robust and natural texture to it as each week passes. I think the right side of my hairline has come along well too. It's tricky to tell as I've let it grow a bit longer than I intended at this stage and I think shorter would give a better impression of how the hairline is doing...maybe that's just me, but I'll be getting a trim during the week and will stick up a few hairline snaps then.

                  re

Looks great Carl, your story really was the deciding factor for me. I couldn't have been more pleased with the entire staff and setup at Hasson & Wong. From Doug, Daria, Angie, Carmen and of course Dr. Wong who were all very kind and very professional. They all take great pride in their work.
Only 72 hours out and I look like Apollo Creed in Rocky. Now the waiting begins. I am not much of a writer or story teller but I will try to post something up shortly.

                  thanks again Carl

                    Hi Carl,
First of all I should say your hair looks great, and thanks for sharing your experience with us. I have a couple of questions for you if I may,

                    1. I am also originally from Ireland (dublin), but now in london, and I am also considering a HT with Dr. Wong. His recommendation for me is a lot more than other doctors (he has said 4000+ grafts while others are more like 2500).
Other doctors have said they will keep clear of doing my crown for the moment and will focus on the front. I can see from your photos that Dr. Wong has done some of your crown. Was this something you discussed? Did you get other opinions from other doctors?

                    2. I am very concerned about going back to work after 3 weeks (which is what I can take time off). Was this an issue for you. I can see that around that time for you there was nothing to indicate surgery, but the top of your head was clearly a different length of hair to the sides.

                    Thanks again

I'm curious about the cost too. I never really considered a transplant before, but I'm getting more and more desperate as I look towards the future and I really don't want to deal with this thinning/balding business. I just want hair that looks nice So what would the average cost for something like this be? I know there are several factors to take into consideration but I'm just looking for a ballpark estimation.

It depends on the clinic......but this many grafts would typically run between $14,000-$18,000 as a general ballpark.......
