Hi Stevie
I think all scars are different , thats why its good idea to have a `test `procedure say 50 -100 grafts see how they grow and heal .
re the link you posted, the scar grafting looks good , i think the grafts are darker in colour and contrast slightly with the scar tissue , its interesting as a scar i would of thought, produces tension on the surrounding tissue possibly resulting in various different angulations of the grafted and natural hair , i note the comment attached that the " angulation is impossible to control due to the dead scar tissue " , if this is a complication then i was unaware of it and it has not been so in my case , my grafts are acutely angled to provide better coverage , they are growing in the same direction as the surrounding natural hair .
Dr Cole has some great results , i like the fact he participates on threads and forums , i hope one day to shave down and see what i look like , the problem is , transplantation is all an `illusion ` and shaving down you lose the illusion , the only way to counter this is with more numbers , more grafts in , in an attempt to match the origanol density , i think this would be difficult and expensive , my goal is to get to a number 3 at the back and sides , let the length of hair work for me ,not against me , remember the scars will always be there , they wont go away , our goal is to hide them with hair
I think extracting beard hair is not more difficult ,but more time consuming , as if you look at your beard it shoots out in all sorts of directions , therefore the Dr has to alter his hand position often to score and extract the graft .
At the consultation my Dr ruled out revision or anything else , no fraxel , just a slow steady risk free, step by step approach , the grafting was done at low density to establish blood supply , with a multi staged approach agreed upon
One thing i noticed was after the first procedure my scars looked less white and appeared pinker , this improves the overall appearence also
hope this helps , remember take your time , no rush
