I have taken some photographs of the left side of my head this morning. The area was grafted with around one thousand beard grafts last May. The photographs show prior to BHR at the consultation, post op, and ten months later.

I noticed with this procedure a lot of the grafts just kept on growing rather than fall out and enter the resting phase.

I`m booked for stage four of my repair in May so will update then.

      Regards

      ejj

        Hi ejj

Coming in really well, many thanks for updating. The skin has also changed colour so not only about more hair but improved vascularity.

Hope it has made a real difference for you so far and of course you have more to come when soon in the chair.

Here are some pictures of my crown at six months post procedure. I had 420 beard grafts placed into my crown. I am returning to BHR in May for a fourth procedure, the plan is to address more of my former strip scars.

            Regards

The original surgical plan was for six procedures, however growth and healing has been excellent and enabled me to graft into other areas of naturally thinning hair, this was something I never expected or thought possible.

If I stopped my repair now I would be happy.

I have no visible marks after three thousand extractions and can safely extract more as the donor has been well managed, and no surrounding hairs have been damaged during the extraction process.

              Regards

                  Hi ejj

Seems like yesterday when we first spoke and then we saw you in the clinic for the first time.

Really happy for the improvement and especially so that new areas can be targeted and not ony "repair" areas as such and as you said to me the touching hair in these areas again is a good feeling and one that I and many can appreciate.

You have certainly been blessed with a good beard and a real "get out of jail card" and glad that some positives are coming from your whole history of surgery.

Thanks for updating and being willing to show step by step so far.

Look forward to having you in the chair again and I hope to be there to make you an English brew!

I have to say, the crown work looks great for just 450 grafts.... impressive. I have to say, I may do the same some day if I have no scarring from my beard. I have the same size crown area as you. How short are you cutting your hair now? Have you thought about going down to a 4 or 5 guard?

So how far along did you guys start really seeing a change, vascular wise, in the scar?

                          Hi North east guy

I have my hair cut now shorter than I have ever been able to over the last twenty years. I am unsure as to the clipper guard as I know my barber well, and he always cuts with scissors rather than clippers. I have always wanted to run some clippers up the back of my head at a 4 guard and see how it looks, I will keep you posted on this one!

Stevie I think we all heal and grow differently, grafting in to scar takes a considerable time to see improvement, that was the situation for me anyway. I started to notice the most improvement at around the nineteen to twenty month timeframe. I hope all is good with you happy easter guys.

                          Best Regards

Oh okay so your skin scar color changed for the better at 19-20 months? Or was your case just improved a lot at the time frame with color, hair density in the scar etc..? I mean I was just wondering (to be loose as I know different people heal differently) how long it takes approximately for the scar to start to get more skin like, at least for you? It may be a tough question because when the are is hairless it sticks out and color is not the foremost of concerns. But thanks again for the response and the updates, Happy Easter.

                              Hi Stevie

I think it is a combination of all really, and all coming together at roughly the same time. Length of hair, improved tissue vascularity, colour change of tissue, a gradual lessening of bright white to a softer pink skin tone all helped.

For me it was this timeframe that I noticed the most improvement.

                              All the best.
