So I'm assuming that by not responding to my post that you do find that Dr. Bisanga was unethical in performing such a large hair transplant (in your opinion) on this poor guy? Interesting.

In the end it's up to each individual to research as much as possible before going in for any kind of procedure. I am not a fan of doctors in general. They are people just like us who have a medical degree. Like in every profession there is the good and the bad. Hopefully we can weed out the bad. Unfortunately some people are more easily led astray than others. In the hair restoration industry emotions are played with and false promises are used to gain peoples trust. It's human nature. There are always people being taken advantage of and the people who take advantage. Hopefully things will turn out ok for me.

You see Lounk this is what I mean. Go back and read the history of this Delphi and his postings, what is his purpose on the forums you tell me. Now go back and read my postings on some of the other sites going back to 2003 and others later as most have been archived. It becomes very confusing over time to figure out who is telling the truth unless you spend plenty of time on the forums and speak with people in person or on the phone.

You are a repair patient you tell me would you wish this on anybody or would you try to warn them.

That is such bullshit Topcat! Just by virtue of all of your rhetoric and posting of your repair journey and praise for Bisanga, all the while aggressively disparaging every other doctor and clinic, could have put this poor guy and many others in harms way. Stop being such a hypocrite! You pimp Bisanga and BHR and you know it. You claim you know how these forums work, so do you deny that when young vulnerable guys read your rants and then see who you went to that this does no sway them? Are you saying that you think Dr. Bisanga was unethical in performing such a large hair transplant on this guy?

Interesting idea Topcat. I wonder if this poor guy could sue you for pimping Bisanga and BHR relentlessly on all of the forums. How do you mange to talk out of both sides of your mouth so well?

I had approx. 2200 FUE grafts transplanted by Dr. Bisanga in Brussels in June of 2012. I am currently five months post-op and feel that the doctor has botched the design of my hairline. For a number of reasons the design looks wonky and unnatural. In addition, I have form of ridging in the front of my hairline known as

I have to tell you topcat you make a lot of sense. I will have the consult, ask a lot of questions and determine what my next step will be. I'll take your advice on taking it slow and have a small session to start even if a mega session is suggested and sounds good. I can always go back for more later. Again though, I'm 61 and would like to have a reasonable looking head of thinning hair for the next 20 or so years I have left. They might come up with a cure but It will probably be too late for me. If I could sue the Dr and the clinic that did the plugs on me in the 70's I would. Too late for that. There should be more law suits now though against bad ht docs and the phony clinics that lure young guys in with false hopes. Hope that happens. Maybe it will clean up the industry. Thanks for all of your input and sincerity.

Lounk I think part of research is investigating the past. Since this forum has not been around that long you need to visit the other sites and start searching history as the past if often an indicator of the future. Many of these same doctors that everyone thinks are so great are not so great if you look at the history. It’s like they try and reinvent themselves on the internet which works really well as all these young guys just look at the showcase results and the chances of reading anything negative is very slim as you need to be in the right place at the right time and that is why history has to be searched. Even with that being said some sites like the one mentioned on that blog have archived a good amount of history and for good reason as I was around 15 years ago and reading it most clinics would like to see it disappear.

Some of these patients need to start suing the reps and the forums that are knowingly manipulating information which affects the choice a patient makes and often results in damage.

Whatever you do and whoever you choose go very small as small as possible. You can always go larger later if you feel good about it.

Here is another example there was a poster on another forum that stated he would like to have a procedure with Gho and have another doctor in Canada not the one mentioned in the blog plant the grafts. Well that same doctor recently had a mega session turn into necrosis for the patient. That is how much these young guys know. What’s even funnier is you got these posters that come on these forums telling us we are bitter old men and these guys have never had a procedure in their life, yet they feel its okay to advise others. I say sue them too.

Always ask a lot of questions during you consult and remember the doctor is no better than you are so don’t put him up on a pedestal. Hopefully he is skilled in his work like many others in their occupation if you like him as a person than all the better but never let your desperation force you to make a bad decision.

Wow topcat. I hope you didn't personally have to go through all of that crap and suffer that much pain and heartache. I know I got screwed in the 70's with those plugs I got and was taken advantage of. I didn't know things were still that bad today in the industry some 35 years later. I won't be making any rash decisions and will have my consult with Dr Umar and take it from there. I don't know what your feelings are about him or if you've seen or heard about his work. From what you say your bht is going ok. No real scarring and good healing. I definitely don't want anymore fut work done on me even though my current ht Dr wants to keep doing small fut's on me until my donor hair is depleted. Cutting into my scalp even in the hands of a skilled Dr doesn't make sense. Fue would be my only choice. I just hope bht is a voluble option for me and will work as I feel it will be the only way to get the required amount of hair on my head to look reasonable. I should of used Paul Mcartney instead of Elvis because he was more my time. hope you are satisfied with what you are getting done and the look you are achieving. I'm trying to get there. I'll keep posting to let you know how my consult goes Dr Umar next week.

    Topcat,

Incredible...I read some of the posts on that forum, some poor dumb uneducated individuals following each other over the cliff to nowhere.

There was a post from one doctor who also posts on here, it looks like he stuck a bowl on the guys head and placed grafts around the edge of the bowl, it looked so ridiculous I couldn't believe my eyes.

I seen your recent post also, warning others to do their homework before getting mega-sessions done. Or anything done for that matter.

Great to have a man like you trying to warn these people before they ruin their lives.

    Cheers Topcat...!

Lounk we show are age when we refer to Elvis hair…….lol……I tell you what I like small hand punches and small sessions with someone who is ethical and skilled and they also have to be personable sorry no a-hole doctors for me some will settle and good for them. What I don’t like are clinics that perform mega sessions, sue patients, threaten to sue patients, have reps attack former patients, have groups of posters attack former patients almost like their own little terror network, reps that advise their patients to not be completely truthful, reps that come on to the forums and blatantly lie, clinics that pay patients off and as a requirement forbid them from posting as part of the agreement, clinics that pay forums for favorable treatment, clinics that ask forums to archive or lock threads, clinics that take on too many younger patients who are completely neurotic to the point of being pathetic as patients, clinics that try to stifle the flow of information as it is not good for business, clinics that make claims but cannot show conclusive proof as we are not all 20 something no nothings that will believe anything because some prick has a white coat on.

With that being said and I’m sure I left something out what is plan B if you come out of a mega bht session with hideous scarring to both your face and body with a bizarre unnatural result that attracts more attention than your current condition? Whatever you do go for only a very small session and be safe it doesn’t matter that you are 61 that is not old so don’t take the risk of ruining the rest of your life so some doctor can buy himself more crap he doesn’t need because he is so lacking in self esteem he needs status symbols that are marketed to him so he can feel good about himself. When you take that kind of risk the odds always favor the house.

Thanks for your input.I'm 61 by the way.Lived my life wearing a piece. Had the plugs done when I was 27. Front and crown. Thank god not too many. No fun. Never felt right. Figured I could do something with the better techniques so went for a 2300 fut about a year ago to frame my face and on the sides. Being an NW6 with fine hair, those 2300 grafts yielding about about 4500 hairs didn't do that much. I hope Dr Umar is an honest Dr and will give me a realistic consult. I've studied his work with repairs and BHT and he looks like he does a good job using the FUE method that you suggest. Going for a few hundred hairs won't do anything for me. He'll probably recommend a larger session involving scalp donor and body hair. My Ht Dr who did the 2300 wants to do more strip transplants of about a 1000 or so at a time until my donor hair is depleted and then think about fue using body hair. Don't like the strip surgery. Thing is Topcat, I'm an older guy and time is not on my side. What do you think about Dr Umar? Have you heard of him or seen his work? I'll make my decision after the consult next week. Just want a reasonable thinning look. I know I'll never look like Elvis. Thanks again.

Well I go back to plug transplants in the 80’s but that hairline hardly shows it as many hairs were transected by inept doctors, unfortunately I didn’t know what that meant back then. Lounk you sound like a nice guy just looking for an end to this nightmare, please whatever you do don’t be talked into a huge mega session if it does not go well you will just disappear into a black hole and only have further regret. Only agree to a few hundred grafts and go very slow, don’t make your situation worse than it already happens to be.

Only believe what you see by your own experience and not much of what you read on these forums. We are probably the same age or you might be a few years older, so I’m not talking down to you I just understand how you must feel so taking the chance of going from bad to worse would not be good.

In all honesty most do not know just how bad this industry is, how many of the players know each other and work together at the expense of desperate bald guys, its pathetic. I don’t get anything from spending my time here all these years and to be honest I never really post much about doctors of the past, but what really gets me is the way many of these scumbags continue to operate I can’t just sit by and let it happen. As I posted to Clandestine I have not become reclusive like so many in fact I have done the opposite going outside my comfort zone with public speaking through Toastmasters and studying improv at Second City here in Chicago. I’m not going to let these a-holes destroy my life nor will I stand by and let them continue to destroy others so they can have a fat wallet.

Good luck in your own journey and posting upclose pictures with details helps everyone so hopefully you will do the same. When patients choose not to do this and only care about themselves than the scumbags win.
